POSITION: Packaging Team Lead

About the Position
The Packaging Team Lead oversees his shift during production time, bearing complete responsibility for his team and the department’s resources. The Packaging Team Lead is accountable for achieving the shift production OEE goal while maintaining the appropriate quality in a cost-efficient way.
The individual in this role is also tasked with embedding EISC/MMS practices within a safe and healthy workplace.
As the initial line manager, the Packaging Team Lead needs to be knowledgeable about Human resource policies, especially regarding disciplinary and grievance procedures, to address personnel issues during the shift and foster a highly motivated team.
Role Duties
- Will be dedicated to creating safe and high-quality products by adhering to all guidelines associated with the Food Safety and Quality Management System.
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety standards. Consistently declare and express that Safety is our top priority. Demonstrate your commitment to safety by acting safely at all times and consistently addressing unsafe actions and behaviors of others, providing corrective feedback when necessary. Follow the site safety regulations and the operational procedures for systems and equipment closely.
- Oversee shifts with direct accountability for nurturing, guiding, and assisting the team to achieve business goals.
- Supervise production every hour, focusing on downtimes, OEE, quality, and waste, while building and sustaining positive relationships with the team.
- Guarantee adherence to safety standards to reach zero LTAs.
- Diligently implement EISC/MMS WOWs and maintain proper housekeeping.
- Assist in the capability enhancement of his team members for multi-skilling.
- Enhance product quality by consistently monitoring and focusing on details, achieving Right First Time (RFT) in quality and process control metrics.
- Address non-conformance promptly to ensure the process stays on schedule. Implement, document, and communicate results to avoid recurrence.
- Oversee the materials and components needed by the plant/equipment throughout shift operations.
Experience / Skills Required
- Degree in Science/Engineering or HND or similar experience with at least 3 years in the packaging sector.
- Tech Savvy
- Skills in leadership for resources
- Management of individuals and skills for motivation
- Networking, persuasion, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Coaching abilities
- Understanding Root Cause Problem-Solving (RCPS)
- Expertise in managing enhancement initiatives (ITFs/PIPs)
