Position: Category Manager
At GBfoods, we provide culinary solutions across various countries in Europe and Africa with renowned local brands such as Jumbo, Gallina Blanca, Erasco, Gino, Liebig, Star, Bama, D&L, Grand’Italia, and Blå Band, among others. GBfoods Africa functions in 24 nations with a regional headquarters located in Accra, Ghana.

Several of our local brands have occupied consumers’ kitchens for more than a hundred years and have established themselves as genuinely cherished brands, in addition to being integral aspects of the local culture.

Job Purpose:
This position is tasked with coordinating, implementing, and overseeing the creation of the marketing plan by product or product group, in line with the established guidelines for managing the brand portfolio. The main objective is to create, oversee, and maintain a lucrative brand or brand portfolio.
Main Duties
Your responsibilities will consist of:
- Take charge of creating yearly brand operation and channel strategies that align with category, brand, consumer, and customer goals and priorities.
- Contribute to the evaluation of the brand strategy (situational analysis).
- Comprehensive Marketing Strategy (CMS) & ensuing business initiatives
- Launch of new products (NPI)
- Generate relevant consumer and shopper insights, ensuring that these insights, along with channel and point-of-purchase opportunities, are integrated into all strategies and plans.
- Collaborate with the Consumer Insight team to undertake studies regarding the product and/or consumer, ensuring that the timing and methods meet identified information needs.
- Achieve established brand and channel goals along with profitability – Ensure that marketing objectives, both Topline and Bottom line, are met through efficient planning, implementation, and oversight.
- Spearhead the formulation of the annual plan, ensuring that the highly effective ATL/BTL programs are grounded in a thorough understanding of consumers and the market to establish a competitive edge.
- Tasked with collecting and examining competitor data and creating strategies to mitigate expected competitor actions.
- Make certain that the consumer marketing budget is effectively planned, tracked, and refined with ongoing enhancements to ROI.
- Monitor, assess, and review all brand and trade efforts to guarantee that you meet business outcomes and preserve brand value.
- Create and revise standard planograms and successful appearances in accordance with brand strategy.
- Make sure to inform all pertinent stakeholders throughout the projects.
- Oversee daily engagements with agencies and support with assessment.
- Make certain that you follow and implement all business management standards, processes, and procedures in every activity.
- Efficient administration of A&P budget
- Establish monthly sales predictions in collaboration with sales and demand planning.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing or an associated discipline.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in brand management within a global FMCG company, with a validated history of achieving business results and overseeing a profitable brand.
Skills Required
- Analytical abilities with a focus on details.
- Outstanding proficiency in both written and spoken communication.
- Skilled in adhering to deadlines and resolving issues.
- Proficient in English, knowing French will be advantageous.
