POSITION: Sourcing Officers

Job Summary
AGROPAL is presently seeking dedicated and excited Officers to become part of its sourcing department. The Sourcing Officers will assist the Sourcing Manager in overseeing the company’s complete raw material sourcing processes concerning farmer/supplier relationships, punctual delivery of quality materials, price negotiations, and keeping current records of all sourcing activities.
Tasks and Obligations
- Assist the sourcing department in achieving seasonal and annual goals.
- Take charge of overseeing sourcing operations in the assigned area.
- Maintain and establish new connections without growers.
- Offer technical help and necessary support to producers according to the company’s policy.
- Carry out scheduled observations of the fields belonging to target farmers.
- Assist farmers in the designated areas to implement and sustain necessary certification standards (such as Global GAP, Fair Trade, and Organic).
- Help in supervising and controlling the application of pesticides to guarantee that out-growers adhere to customer specifications and the European Union (EU) Maximum Residue Limit (MRL).
- Oversee the inventory of raw materials that are received, stored, categorized, and distributed.
- Coordinate the supply of quality raw materials and associated logistics from specified areas for processing.
- Aid in fostering a culture of food safety and quality.
Qualification and Experience Required
- HND or Diploma in Agriculture, Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a similar discipline. Having a Bachelor’s Degree is beneficial.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in procurement or sourcing raw materials, ideally within the food processing industry or agricultural field.
- Comprehension of raw material acquisition procedures, supplier oversight, sourcing methods, and the agricultural supply chain.
- Fundamental understanding of food safety guidelines and quality assurance criteria (e.g., HACCP) related to sourcing raw materials.
- Excellent negotiation abilities and the capability to handle supplier relationships efficiently, while obtaining advantageous terms and conditions.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities for fostering strong connections and engaging with suppliers and internal teams.
- Capability to perform market analysis and evaluate pricing patterns in agricultural goods.
- Keen focus on detail for assessing raw material quality, overseeing supplier agreements, and keeping procurement documentation.
- Skillful use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Applicants must live in the Bono, Bono East, or Ahafo Regions, or be open to moving to these locations.
