POSITION: Human Resource Officer
Position Overview
The HR Officer will be tasked with revising the company’s HR policies and managing our recruitment procedures. For success in this position, the applicant must possess a strong background in Human Resources Management and in-depth knowledge of Ghana’s labour legislation regulations. In the end, the individual will assist the Human Resource Manager in overseeing the daily administration of employee well-being and other associated matters. Oversee the HR department’s budget and make sure cost-effective strategies are applied during the acquisition of logistics for HR/Administration departments.
Main Duties
- Oversee and revise HR documents, such as the Employee Handbook, Disciplinary Policy, Standard Operating Procedures, Guidelines and Policies, Service Agreements, and Employment Contracts.
- Help employees with performance evaluations and assist them in obtaining benefits packages.
- Manage and implement administrative procedures within the HR division.
- Ensure adherence to Ghana’s regulations, including labor and employment laws, alongside those of the partner’s country internationally.
- Oversee the hiring of employees, conduct meetings, and manage terminations.
- Address and examine employee grievances fairly and without bias.
- Deploy and integrate innovative HR technologies to improve departmental productivity.
- Make certain that the company’s HR policies are applied consistently.
- Help in creating the compensation and benefits packages for employees.
- Establish evaluation processes for performance (e.g. quarterly/annual assessments and 360° feedback).
- Aid in creating equitable HR policies and ensure that employees comprehend and adhere to them.
- Oversee the HR department’s budget and ensure that cost-effective strategies are employed in the procurement of logistics for HR/Administration sections.
- Assist with the organization of professional training and the company’s strategic objectives.
- Execute efficient sourcing, evaluation, and interviewing methods.
- Evaluate training requirements and organize learning and development programs for all staff members.
Required Skills or Experience
CREDENTIALS
- Demonstrated work experience as an HR Officer or a comparable position in a reputable organization, ideally within the Real Estate and Development sectors.
- Knowledge of Human Resources Management Systems and the use of HR Tracking Systems. For example, using the ERP HR Software as a monitoring tool.
- Background in comprehensive recruiting processes.
- Strong understanding of labour laws and regulations in Ghana, especially regarding employment contracts, employee leave, and insurance policies.
- Evident leadership skills
- Strong communication abilities
- A strong degree in BA/BSc: Human Resources Management or a related area in social science from an accredited higher education institution.
- Should have at least two (2) years of professional experience in comparable or related fields.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
The chosen candidate will directly report to the HR Manager regarding all HR-related issues. S/He is anticipated to submit a monthly report for the HR Manager’s evaluation to assist in creating a detailed monthly report for management, as well as any report needed by the CEO, COO, or other Executive Officer.
