Position: PHARMACIST

The efforts of KHRC have an impact on health policies and practices across Ghana, Africa, and globally. KHRC provides research and training services both nationally and internationally, and its staff members come from various disciplines. KHRC is situated in the central region of Ghana.
Position OverviewÂ
Eligible candidates are encouraged to submit their applications for a Pharmacist position on a project at Kintampo Health Research Centre, located in Kintampo North Municipality, Bono-East Region.
Reporting Structure: Accountable to the Director, KHRC via the Head of Clinical Trials
Primary Tasks and Obligations
- Delivery of pharmaceutical care to study participants in accordance with established policies and standards.
- Make sure investigational products and medications are received and stored under their specified conditions.
- Prepare, distribute, and properly label investigational products and other medications following standard operating procedures and protocols.
- Keep thorough records of investigational products, including complete information on delivery to trial site(s), distribution to participants, return, and secure disposal of investigational products in accordance with guidelines.
- Organize the submission of clinical trial documents and necessary papers to ethics committees and regulatory bodies, and uphold communication with them.
- Organize participant recruitment and follow-up visits, oversee study conduct in line with good clinical practices and other regulations, and keep study documentation updated.
- Assist in the preparation of funding proposals and evaluation of submissions.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by KHRC.
Necessary Skills or Experience
Educational QualificationÂ
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree and must be in good standing with the Pharmacy Council and Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana.
Experience, Skills, and AttributesÂ
- At least one year of work experience after obtaining licensure.
- Skills in computing for capturing and processing pharmacy data.
- Broad understanding and practical abilities in distribution.
- Understand standard quality assurance processes in pharmacy activities.
- Capability to collaborate with others.
- Capability to adjust to evolving surroundings.
- Show precision and carefulness in details.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capability to instruct others on standard operating procedures.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Exhibit adaptability and a systematic method in your work.
- Capability for collaboration, strong organizational skills, and self-driven motivation.
- Strong interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to perform under stress and adhere to strict timelines.
