Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Opens Recruitment Portal 2024

As part of an effort to reduce the country’s rising unemployment rate, the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in accordance with the YEA Act 2015 (Act 887), is recruiting new personnel for the following jobs.

1.Community Police Assistants (CPAS)

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in accordance with the YEA Act 2015 (Act 887), is recruiting new personnel for the Community Protection Assistants Module in partnership with the Ghana Police Service.

Eligibility criteria

  • Persons aged 18 to 35 years.
  • Minimum requirement for Senior High School education.

2. Community Health Workers (CHWS)

The Youth Employment Agency is working with the Ghana Health Service to implement the CHW Programme under Regulation 1(b) of the Youth Employment Agency Regulation 2016 (LI. 2231). The Community Health Workers (CHW) Programme aims to strengthen the community health workers in rural communities, enhance access to health services, and contribute to Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and COVID-19 response. The Youth Employment Agency would engage participants in the scheme to work closely with the Ghana Health Service at the village level. Successful applications will only be posted in their respective communities

Eligibility criteria

  • Persons between the ages of 18 and 35 (females urged to apply)
  • Minimum need for Senior High School education: passes in English and Mathematics.
  • Applicants must be proficient in English and at least one local language.
  • The ability to utilize (or learn to use) a smartphone.
  • Only shortlisted applicants who complete the CHW training program will be hired.

Role of Community Health Workers

The Community Health Worker is not a health professional, but rather a person recruited by the YEA from the community in which he or she lives and given basic orientation to serve as a service delivery bridge between the respective communities and service delivery points, facilitating the work of Community Health Nurses, Community Health Officers, and midwives in the communities.

3. Prison Office Assistants (POAS)

As part of efforts to reduce the country’s rising unemployment rate, the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) is recruiting new personnel into the Prisons Office Assistants Module (Youth in Community Service and Security) in partnership with the Ghana Prison Service, as mandated by its Act 2015 (Act 887).

Eligibility criteria

  • Persons aged 18 to 35 years.
  • Senior High School education is the minimum prerequisite.
  • Priority will be given to applicants with NVTI certification and/or artisanal skills.

Conditions of Application

  • Successful applicants will become YEA beneficiaries. Beneficiaries would have a two-year term of engagement.
  • The application period will begin on October 22nd, 2024, and end on October 29th, 2024.
  • Applicants must apply through the portal and then visit their respective district offices for assistance.
