New Job Vacancies at AGA Health Foundation

AGA Health Foundation is now looking for skilled and experienced experts to fill the following critical jobs.

1. Radiographer

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide high-quality general and special’ outpatient, inpatient, and emergency care radiographic services, as well as dental, fluoroscopy, mobile, and theatre radiography as needed, on an on-call or shift roster system as directed by referring clinicians and other professional healthcare staff.
  • Maintain excellent clinical standards in the delivery of radiography services.
  • Assist with quality assurance programmes, radiation safety protocols, and evaluations.
  • Assist with the training of clinical students, interns, and other health workers attached to the facility as needed.
  • Work with other healthcare providers to improve radiography services in the facility.
  • Take part in clinical care supervision and audits.
  • Provide quality healthcare acceptably and cost-effectively.
  • Ensure proper documentation for medical, administrative, and regulatory purposes.
  • Maintain CPD, attend statutory and mandatory training on an annual basis, and remain competent in the role.
  • Perform any additional clinical and administrative activities assigned by superiors or the Chief Medical Officer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Imaging or Radiologic Technology.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a diagnostic radiographer.
  • Knowledge of ultrasonography and computerized tomography is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Software (HAMS) is advantageous.
  • Permanent registration and certification with the Allied Health Profession Council of Ghana.
  • Must be in good standing with the Allied Health Profession Council of Ghana.
  • Proof of certification in continued professional training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the GHS patient charter and clinical guidelines.
  • Understanding of the Data Protection Act and the rules governing patient records.
  • Awareness and comprehension of quality assurance challenges.
  • Understanding of clinical auditing processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Understanding of infection prevention and control measures.
  • Able to display and participate in effective teamwork.
  • The ability to relate to people from various backgrounds.
  • Expertise in computer applications, especially the utilization of electronic medical records.
  • The ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent decision-making abilities, with an emphasis on standards and outcomes.
  • The utmost professionalism.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent customer relations

2. Sonographer

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide a variety of high-quality medical sonography services, such as obstetric, gynecological, small parts, abdominal, urological, Doppler, and musculoskeletal ultrasound, on an on-call or shift roster system, as required by referring clinicians and other professional healthcare staff.
  • Maintain good clinical standards when doing medical sonography for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, and engage in theatre and emergency sonography operations as needed.
  • Analyze, interpret, and generate accurate reports for medical sonography operations.
  • Provide support for quality assurance programs, radiation safety procedures, and reviews.
  • Assist with the training of clinical students, interns, and other health workers attached to the facility as needed.
  • Work with other healthcare providers to improve medical sonography services in the facility.
  • Take part in clinical care supervision and audits.
  • Provide quality healthcare acceptably and cost-effectively.
  • Ensure proper documentation for medical, administrative, and regulatory purposes.
  • Maintain CPD, attend statutory and mandatory training on an annual basis, and remain competent in the role
  • Perform any additional clinical and administrative duties assigned by superiors or the Chief Medical Officer.

  • A bachelor of science degree in medical sonography from a recognized and approved institution.
  • Must have completed a one-year internship or one-year National Service program at an accredited and recognized facility.
  • A minimum of two (2) years post-National Service experience as a Medical Sonographer at a recognized or accredited facility.
  • Knowledge of various medical imaging procedures is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Software (HAMS) is advantageous.
  • Permanent registration and certification with the Allied Health Professions Council of Ghana.
