AsanSka University College of Design and Technology is a private university college in Oyibi, Accra, authorized by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and associated with the University of Education, Winneba. We are a practice-based university that offers degree, diploma, and certificate programs in jewelry design technology, digital media and communication design, fashion design, and product design, and entrepreneurship. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and qualified persons to fill the following positions:
1. Dean of Academic Affairs
Job Description.
The Dean of Academic Affairs at AUCDT has a senior leadership role in charge of monitoring the institution’s academic programs, policies, and overall educational quality. The dean ensures that the University College’s academic standards are at the greatest degree of excellence, that programmes are aligned with the university college’s mission and vision, and that a collaborative and innovative academic environment exists. The position also requires tight collaboration with academics, department heads, and the university college’s leadership team to facilitate student success, faculty growth, and research activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all academic programmes, ensuring that they fulfill the institution’s educational and accrediting criteria.
- Curriculum Development: Manage the design, review, and continuing development of the academic curriculum under industry standards and student demands.
- Faculty Management: Help to recruit, retain, and develop highly qualified faculty members, assuring faculty excellence in teaching, research, and service.
- Policy and Governance: Create and implement academic policies and processes, ensuring that they comply with institutional legislation and accreditation body criteria.
- Student Success: Create a student-centered academic environment that prioritizes student retention, academic advising, learning outcomes, and career readiness.
- Accreditation and Quality Assurance: Oversee efforts to maintain and improve accreditation status with the appropriate accreditation agencies.
- Research and Innovation: Foster a culture of research and academic innovation by encouraging faculty and students to engage in intellectual and creative activities.
- Collaborate with other deans, department heads, and administrative leaders to achieve institutional objectives and enhance academic services.
- Budget Management: Oversee academic program budgets and ensure that resources are allocated effectively to achieve academic goals.
- Community Engagement: Form collaborations with industry, the government, and other educational institutions to improve the university college’s reputation and opportunities for students and faculty
Minimum requirements
- A PhD in a relevant academic discipline from an approved university.
- Evidence of scholarly work and research.
Experience
- A minimum of 8–10 years of academic experience, which includes teaching, research, and administration.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in higher education, as a department head, associate dean, or dean.
- Knowledge of Ghana’s tertiary education system and certification criteria is extremely beneficial.

2. Executive Secretary for the President
Job Description
The Executive Secretary for the University College’s President is an important element of the executive support team, offering extensive administrative assistance and organizational leadership to ensure the President’s office runs smoothly. This position necessitates a high level of professionalism, discretion, and proactive problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced academic setting.
Main Activities
- Oversee the President’s calendar, scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel plans.
- Prioritize and coordinate incoming requests, mail, and invites to ensure timely responses and proper follow-up.
- Prepare materials, briefings, and agendas for the President’s meetings and events.
- Act as the principal contact for internal and external stakeholders, displaying strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.
- Improve communication between the President’s office and university college departments, faculty, staff, students, alumni, trustees, donors, government officials, and community partners.
- Carefully draft and edit correspondence, speeches, presentations, and reports for the President.
- Manage daily operations of the President’s office, creating a friendly and organized environment.
- Handle administrative activities such as record-keeping, file management, budget tracking, and purchasing supplies and equipment
- Assist the President with strategic initiatives, special projects, and institutional goals. Coordinate cross-functional teams and resources as needed.
- Conduct research, gather data, and create reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Track progress, dates, and milestones for critical projects and initiatives, identify potential risks and implement remedies.
Qualifications and Key Skills
- The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Higher Education, or a similar discipline, with a preferred master’s degree.
- Requires 5 years of progressive experience in executive support, office administration, or comparable jobs, preferably in higher education or a complex organizational setting.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail, while effectively managing various objectives and deadlines.
- Demonstrates strong writing and verbal communication skills, enabling professional interactions with varied stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software, with a preference for database and project management experience.
- Demonstrates discretion, integrity, and commitment to secrecy when handling sensitive information.

3. Lecturer in Fashion Design
Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Lecturer in Fashion Design to join our college. The ideal candidate would have previous fashion industry experience as well as a solid teaching background. The person will be in charge of providing high-quality education, encouraging innovation, and mentoring students as they improve their talents in fashion design, garment fabrication, fashion illustration, and so on.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Deliver lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on fashion design themes such as sketching, pattern making, garment construction, and textiles
- Curriculum Development: Create and update course content to align with current industry trends, including sustainable practices and new technologies.
- Student Mentorship: Guide and support students as they build their design portfolios and technical skills, providing constructive comments and mentorship.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Evaluate student performance via tests, projects, and practical work to ensure they fulfill academic and professional expectations.
- Industry Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with fashion industry executives to facilitate internships, guest lectures, and collaborative projects.
- Research and Innovation: Keep up with the newest fashion design trends and developments by conducting research and presenting findings at conferences and exhibitions.
- Administrative duties include attending departmental meetings, faculty development programs, and academic events while keeping accurate records of student progress and attendance.
Minimum requirements
- A minimum of an MPhil in fashion design or a comparable discipline. (Having a PhD will be advantageous.)
- Proven tertiary-level teaching experience.
- Proven expertise in the fashion business, including a portfolio of work.
- Proficiency in necessary fashion design software (such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D, and CAD).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
- Passion for instilling creativity and innovation in students
- Capability to work independently and effectively with a varied range of students and faculty.
