Position: Director Of CSIR-Crop Research Institute (CRI)

Successful applicants will:

• Manage the institute’s day-to-day operations and report to the Director-General.
• Build strong relationships with relevant institutions and agencies within and outside the CSIR.
• Prioritize research under the Director-General’s guidance.
• Encourage technology transfer to the industry.
• Coordinate research funding initiatives and provide services.

Qualifications & Experience

• To apply, candidates must have a PhD in Agricultural or Biological Sciences from a recognized university or institution.
• They must also have at least 12 years of experience in Research and Development (R&D), including at least 5 years in a management position.
• They must also have made a significant contribution to science through publications.
• The research output should be comparable to that of a Principal Researcher for National Development.
• Additionally, the candidate should have knowledge of relevant agencies and the ability to connect with top management in other institutions.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate research staff and support personnel.
• Proven track record of securing internal and external financing for research initiatives.
• Capable of translating policy decisions into actionable programs and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships.

Additional Information

• Age Limit: The applicant must be 55 years or younger.
• Tenure: The position is for 5 years in the first instance and can be renewed subject to acceptable performance on the job.
• Compensation: The compensation is appealing, with fringe benefits
• Location: Kumasi.
