POSITION: Logistics Operations Manager – Supply Chain

We’re creating a talent pipeline for Logistics Team members.

What you will do:

Responsible for overseeing the storage, transportation, and delivery of commodities. You will supervise and coordinate with coworkers to ensure that stock is maintained and moved efficiently.

  • Track waits and backlogs.
  • Monitor the quality of operations.
  • Monitoring network dispatch operations and managing the team.
  • Coordinate capacity and frequency with dispatchers and 3PL.
  • Train teams and resolve challenges.
  • Implement scalable processes to support growth.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects.
  • This might necessitate frequent travel within regions.
  • Challenge old processes and build new processes to react to the rapid development of
  • Jumia Supply Chain clients.
  • Managing relationships with clients and partners (third-party logistics providers)

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Logistics-Supply Chain, Economics, Engineering or similar)
  • Advanced Excel features include macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, analytical capabilities, and workbooks.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in logistics or supply chain management will be an added benefit.
  • 8 years of minimum experience, preferably in a manufacturing, production, or distribution setting with a strong focus on logistics or an alternative logistics company.
  • Ability to lead vast and remote teams.
  • Hard-working, result-oriented, methodical, and highly structured.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and team player. Flexible
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate in perfect English
    demonstrated competence in data reporting and analysis.
  • Experience or high level of comfort with logistical operations
  • Experience with working in a culturally varied environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, negotiation, time-management, and coordination abilities.
  • Self-driven with excellent autonomous follow-through ability.
  • Strong entrepreneurial abilities, leadership, and determination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace.
