POSITION: Sr. Coordinator, Church Mobilisation
For almost 25 years, the International Justice Mission (IJM) has been at the forefront of efforts to protect vulnerable people from violence by strengthening the Justice System response. The Ghana office collaborates with local governments to rescue victims of trafficking, bring criminals to justice, restore survivors to safety and strength, and assist law enforcement in creating a secure future that lasts.
The Need
As we increase our worldwide impact to protect 500 million people from violence by 2030, we are looking for a Senior Coordinator, Church Mobilisation (SCCM) to build and manage connections with important stakeholders in the church community. The SCCM reports directly to the National Director of Advocacy and Partnerships. Moreover, The SCCM is responsible for mobilizing the Ghanaian church at the local and national levels, as well as para-church organizations, to oppose child trafficking in Ghana and accept the IJM’s model of change. The SCCM is also charged with assisting the National Director of Advocacy and Partnerships on program strategy.
This is a full-time on-site role that requires frequent travel around the country.
This position is headquartered in Accra, Ghana, reports to the National Director, Advocacy and Partnerships, and is only open to candidates with the right to work in Ghana.
Responsibilities
- Network and form ties with churches throughout Ghana.
- Network and form alliances with local leaders, chiefs, assemblymen, queen moms, and other opinion leaders.
- Network and establish ties with important media and performing arts partners.
- Deliver written (articles, memoranda, third-party speeches) and spoken messages to important external audiences;
- Communicate IJM’s paradigm of transformation and train church partners;
- Provide biblical training for churches and faith leaders.
- Offer training to community leaders, government officials, and opinion leaders.
- Provide training for NGOs and development partners.
- Assist caseworkers with technical training for Justice Sector Training partners.
- Record and report qualitative and quantitative data obtained from training, outreach activities, community engagements, partnerships, and media engagements.
- Develop a strategy for local involvement in source and destination communities.
- Own, lead, and arrange important advocacy events for the government, churches, and development partners.
- Assist important partners and stakeholders in executing their events related to our program activity.
- Host and coordinate foreign church and donor visits
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of ministry experience and a master’s degree.
- A Minimum of five years of experience with community engagement, event planning, and/or partnership work is preferred.
- Requirements include proficiency in MS Office and strong biblical knowledge.
