Position: PREMIUM ADMIN OFFICER
Job Description
To supervise and ensure that the institution’s whole premium administration is properly managed in collaboration with all banks in the country. Ensure that premiums received are properly accounted for and credited to policyholders in consultation with the underwriting department.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitates analysis and reconciliation of FIC premium account discrepancies.
- Using various commission rates to calculate premium payments.
- Monitors unpaid client premiums.
- Handle non-payment issues with clients.
- Evaluate client payment history and cancel policies for nonpayment of premiums as needed.
- Supervise team to ensure banks receive premium deduction letters as per client agreement.
- Process mandatory deductions.
- Conduct frequent audits to ensure that the total policies issued match those supplied to banks.
- Collect premiums from banks using direct debit instructions.
- Ensure all collected premiums are properly lodged at the designated banks.
- Monthly updates on premium and policy movements.
- Re-submit application forms and notify banks of changes in premiums and deletions.
- Negotiate new deductions or initiate new Direct Debit Deductions.
- Schedule regular meetings with bank relationship managers to ensure effective service delivery.
- Other duties assigned by the Chief Operations Officer.
Requirements
- A good first degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, or HND (Accounting Option).
- At least three years of relevant work experience in the insurance industry
- Demonstrates strong teamwork and customer service skills.
- Possession of a high degree of integrity.
- Good in Excel
