Job Description.

Job Description: Reporting to the Assistant General Manager (Operations).

The Food and Beverage Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Food and Beverage outlets, ensuring that hotel service standards are met, and guest expectations are exceeded, while also ensuring the profitability of all units within the Food and Beverage department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implement all company basic brand requirements while also ensuring that optional brand standards are implemented where applicable.
  • Monitor all activities, particularly during high business hours, and work with the appropriate leads to make modifications as needed.
  • Must guarantee that all staff deliver on the brand promise and provide great guest service at all times.
  • Taste and monitor the foods and beverages served throughout the operations, offering comments as needed.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Chef on the preparation, presentation, and service of Food and Beverage goods to ensure the highest quality at all times.
  • Spend time in public locations observing employee-guest interactions and conversing with visitors, collaborating with Heads of Department to coach workers in guest service skills as needed.
  • Handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries courteously and effectively, following up to ensure that problems are satisfactorily addressed.
  • Strategically analyze business performance to provide accurate and meaningful forecasts, involving relevant Heads of Department as needed.
  • Cost management should be proactive and based on key performance indicators, with input from respective Heads of Department as needed.
  • Ensure that all corporate laws, policies, and requirements regarding financial record keeping, money handling, and licensing are followed, including timely and correct reporting of financial information.
  • Keep track of, analyze, and regulate all labor and inventory costs. This includes creating the necessary reports, charts, and timetables to meet or exceed budgets while maintaining and improving quality.
  • Ensure client safety by training employees and enforcing all safety, cleanliness, food preparation and storage, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Maintains a continual focus on cleanliness in all areas.
  • Maximize supervisors’ effectiveness by building skills and competencies through proper training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensure that all employees fully understand and follow employee rules and regulations.
  • Hire, train, oversee, develop, discipline, and counsel all food and beverage team members under business policies and procedures.

Required Skill or Experience

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent with a focus on hospitality
  • European training/experience is a plus.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of six (6) years of working experience as a food and beverage manager or in a similar job with leadership experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the food sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
