Exciting Career Opportunity at PACKS Africa

ROLE: Mentee – Corporate Evidence Leader Mentorship Programme

The first cohort of our mentorship project concluded in October 2022, with many successes in mentee capability. The only mentee assumed leadership of our youth-led organization. Do you have what it takes to join Cohort 3, as Cohort 2 enters its second year in 2024?

This curriculum began with the idea that multiple abilities relevant to a wide range of ecosystem stakeholders are required to support growth and innovation among practitioners in the multidisciplinary field of Evidence-Informed Decision-Making (EIDM). While capacity development efforts are underway to promote competencies among evidence producers and their counterpart user communities, little is being done to improve competencies within intermediary organizations.

PACKS Africa, a regional leader in the practice of EIDM, created this programme to provide chances for capacity development to community youth leaders. Finally, it is expected that a significant proportion of programme products will promote EIDM activities wherever they are engaged following graduation.

Company Description:

The Ghana-based private not-for-profit youth-led Pan-African capacity development think tank was founded in 2017 to improve evidence use in decision-making at the macro level in the evidence ecosystem. We influence the use of research and other information in policy creation across Africa to achieve a Pan-African development process driven by evidence-informed policies.

Our efforts strengthen ecosystems through evidence-based governance, knowledge management, and EIDM advocacy. Our advocacy for extending EIDM possibilities and promoting human, organizational, and system capacity development is based on primary research on evidence-based ecosystem governance concerns.

A multidimensional diagnosis matrix pilot in Ghana, Ethiopia, and Kenya, inspired by the Context Matters framework, and the Evidence Landscape database, powered by our Babia Analytical methodology, are our two primary self-funded endeavors. In just over five years, we’ve grown to six Sub-Saharan African countries and hope to expand across the continent’s five geographical regions.

This mentorship program is strategic for regional expansion.

Corporate Evidence Leader Mentoring Programme (CEL-MP)

CEL-MP aims to establish a pool of young evidence leaders on the African continent by engaging people in rigorous weekly activities lasting at least 12 months (expandable to 24 years). The training focuses on two major competencies: corporate leadership and technical EIDM. Corporate competencies are being prioritized to build corporate leaders for the profession.
