Summary of the Job:
The Medical Sales Representative (MSR) is an important contact between the company and healthcare practitioners. The MSR is in charge of advertising registered items or groups of products in the highly specialised therapeutic domain. Also, The MSR serves a diverse range of consumers, including physicians, chemists, and other key stakeholders in both public and private hospitals. The MSR works strategically to raise awareness and demand for the company’s products, as well as to assure optimal and sustained product availability on the market and in various institutions (including tenders) and reimbursement agencies.
Key responsibilities:
- Increases the sales of products and their market share.
- Meets sales targets in the given zone while adhering to all Company HCC standards.
- Maintains accurate coverage of assigned territory and ensures full compliance with CRM reporting obligations, as per company policy guidelines.
- Performs client segmentation in accordance with the company’s rules to ensure that target customers are reached with the best tools and frequency and receive best-in-class customer service.
- Keeps the customer database up to date to ensure a complete awareness of the customer’s demands and the ability to fulfil them on time.
- Maintains great current knowledge of disease areas, products, and competitors.
- Stays current with the newest product information and clinical data offered by the firm.
- Present this data to healthcare experts at face-to-face meetings and/or
Group presentations.
- Stay current on new developments in the healthcare system, anticipate future commercial opportunities and risks, and adjust strategy accordingly to help shape the healthcare environment.
- Contributes to the Brand Strategy by identifying and acting on new possibilities to generate business growth.
- Conducts continual market analysis, including competitive and business intelligence.
- Understands clients and market trends to meet short- and long-term business goals.
- Collaborates with other functions in a cooperation attitude to maximise results in a timely way, while being open to comments and suggestions to expand market penetration.
- Interacts with KAM and Access Manager on a regular basis to provide information and find the best solutions when typical issues arise.
- Ensure availability, reimbursement, access, and disposal of the Company’s products at all levels, including: MOH, Regional projects, and all other relevant national agencies responsible for funding and product evaluations that may affect reimbursing decisions, in conjunction with
Commercial Lead.
- Expands and improves contact network with Leading Specialists and KOLs.
- Develops long-term beneficial relationships with target healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
- Assists in organising promotional and instructional group gatherings, symposia, and conferences for physicians and other medical personnel
- Adhere to local laws and HCBI principles, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and the Policy on Business Conduct (PBC).
- Report adverse events and product quality complaints in accordance with J&J Pharmacovigilance guidelines on a timely basis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within Ghana’s pharmaceutical business.
- Expertise in pharmaceutical products and healthcare in Ghana, particularly in the northern sector.
- Proven track record of ethically promoting pharmaceutical items to healthcare professionals and gaining access to key accounts.
- Understanding Ghana’s pharmaceutical sector regulations and compliance norms.
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and decision makers
- Capable of efficiently communicating complex medical facts to healthcare experts and delivering strong sales pitches.
- Demonstrates a proactive and self-motivated mindset, capable of working independently and efficiently managing a defined territory.
- Proficient with sales and CRM applications and tools.
- A valid driving licence and a willingness to travel widely within the designated territory.
