Main activities

In the presence of Edmund M. Clarke, winner of the Turing Award, and Sabine Seidler, rector of the Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien), the VCLA was formed in September 2011 and formally launched in January 2012. Helmut Veith and Stefan Szeider founded the Center (1971–2016), and they shared leadership of it until Veith’s death in March 2016.

Agata Ciabattoni was elected as the new co-chair in December 2017, and the VCLA board’s composition changed. The Doctoral Program in Logical Methods in Computer Science (LogiCS) provided funding for the VCLA. Typically, other grants and organizations co-finance VCLA’s work.

The annual reports posted here provide a thorough summary of all VCLA activities. Please address any inquiries to Andrea Hackl, the Center’s project and public relations manager.

Organization

The international advisory board’s strategic recommendations are taken into consideration when the executive board, in cooperation with the local advisory board, coordinates VCLA. Stefan Szeider and Agata Ciabattoni are the temporary chairmen.
