About You and the Position 

As a part of Zipline’s Flight Operations team, you will be tasked with making sure that the delivery of medical supplies to healthcare facilities is conducted safely and punctually. This will require collaborating with a team of flight support operators to perform routine pre-flight checks, launching, and recovering the drones.

What actions You Will Take

  • Launch and Recovery: You will be accountable for the secure setup of drones for over 150 flights, conduct essential checks, liaise with Zipline controllers in anticipation of flight, and launch as well as take apart drones upon returning to the Distribution Center.
  • Guarantee the proper and prompt reporting of fleet and system problems to the flight operations team.
  • Engage clearly with flight technicians/shift coordinators regarding unresolved issues and obstacles noted during the launch and recovery phases.
  • When required, efficiently and securely assist incident response teams.
  • Exhibit outstanding attention to detail and concentration in both nominal and off-nominal scenarios, while also alerting the shift coordinators/maintenance technicians on duty.
  • Regularly adhere to all standard operating protocols, quality, and safety regulations.
  • Convey messages clearly and efficiently both within teams and across different teams, particularly during busy periods.
  • Engage in initiatives that enhance team spirit and community, like initiatives aimed at workplace or cultural improvement that unite individuals and reinforce Zipline’s principles.
  • The capacity to offer assistance or make an extra effort to aid others.
  • Sometimes takes the lead in recognizing issues without needing instructions.

What You Will Contribute

  • Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Aerospace Engineering/Drone Engineering Technology, or National Service Personnel, or Vocational Training personnel possessing a technical background.
  • Enthusiasm for working in the industry and are unafraid to get their hands soiled.
  • Capacity to remain attentive, modest, and safety-aware throughout 12-hour shifts.
  • The capacity to thrive in a dynamic atmosphere and appreciate tasks that keep you active.
  • The capability to sustain concentration throughout prolonged daily tasks
