USAID Paid Internships 2022
It’s time to apply for the 2022 USAID paid internship programs. Over the years, USAID has been offering exciting internship opportunities to students. The internship is open to students studying undergraduate and post-graduate programs.
There are paid and unpaid USAID internship opportunities for outstanding graduate students.
The internship opportunities are in two groups:
- On-field internships
- Virtual Internships
Internship with USAID will boost interns’ CVs and help develop their existing skills. The good news is that there is no application fee needed to be able to apply. Also, there is no IELTS test score requirement.
Details About USAID Paid Internships 2022
Interested applicants should take note of the following:
- Firstly, interns and Fellows will work in one of USAID’s offices in Washington, D.C., or a country where USAID works.
- Also, the Internships will begin in July and end in July.
- Interns will work in any of the following areas: economic growth, agriculture, education, health, environment, democracy and governance, conflict prevention, as well as humanitarian assistance.
- However, internships and fellows will get the opportunity to explore Federal careers and learn valuable work experience.
Responsibilities Of Interns
Successful interns include the following:
- Firstly, doing Research
- Secondly, writing program memoranda
- Thirdly, drafting documents
- Also, facilitating meetings and special events
- Moreover, attending program discussions in the Agency, at the Department of State, or on Capitol Hill
- In addition to that, communicating about program issues with USAID field Missions abroad, and with USAID’s many stakeholders as well as the general public
- Lastly, participating in employee engagement as well as mentoring events4

Types Of USAID Internship Opportunities
1 . On-Field Internship Program
The Purpose of this Internship Program is to provide students admitted to a wide variety of educational institutions thus, from high school to graduate level, the opportunity to work in agencies and explore Federal careers. And get paid for work done while still in school.
These internships will provide students with hands-on experience.
2 . Virtual Student Internships
USAID collaborates with the Department of State to provide virtual internship opportunities to students. Thus, regardless of applicants’ geographic location, they can still do internships using the Virtual Student Federal Service Program.
Dates For Virtual Internships Are Available Below:
- May: Mentors open internships
- July: Students submit applications for internships
- August: Mentors choose students for internships
- September: Internships commence

Applicants are entreated to apply before the closing date of the application expires. Usually, internship application closes at the end of July each year.
