We are hiring for the Maintenance Supervisor (Mechanical) position within our Facility Management position.
Duties
This position serves as the Facility Maintenance Supervisor (Mechanical) for the United States (US) Embassy in Monrovia, Liberia; within the Facilities Management (FAC) Section, reporting to the Mechanical Engineer, with direct supervision of the HVAC Lead and Plumbing Lead; and indirect supervision of the HVAC, and Plumbing Technicians. The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate all mechanical facility maintenance and repair work for the Old Embassy Compound, U.S. Embassy leased properties/residential and non-residential properties, and the mechanical systems at the New Embassy Compound facilities, including the Water Treatment Plants.
Evaluations and Qualifications
Requirements: EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in mechanical system maintenance (plumbing, water treatment plant, or HVAC field) is necessary in an industrial, foreign mission, or medium to big corporate operation.
- A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience is necessary.
Education Requirements:
- A secondary school diploma is required.
- 2 years of vocational training or apprenticeship in a government-authorized program producing journeyman abilities in the Plumbing or HVAC trades is required.
Evaluations:
- LANGUAGE: English Level IV – Reading, writing, and speaking fluency are necessary. (REQUIRED) (This may be tested.)
KNOWLEDGE FOR HIRE:
- A working understanding of maintenance, such as HVAC, plumbing, or water treatment plant operations, is required. This should encompass building, HVAC, plumbing, and water treatment plant maintenance activities, as well as ensuring that the highest operating requirements are met at all times.
- Knowledge of disposal permissions and regulations with the host government SHEM-Safety and Health Guidelines, players upgrading office procedures to reflect conformity to host government laws. This might be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR HIRE:
Must be able to supervise and offer technical direction to a big multi-trade crew. Basic computer abilities, including the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and so on), are necessary. Ability to create reports, as well as lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and use hand tools is required. A driver’s license and the ability to pass a driver’s medical exam are required. This might be tested.
