The University of Westminster is awarding two Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarships to students entering an appropriate full-time master’s course starting in January 2027. Applicants must be resident in the UK, meet the immigration status requirements of the scholarship, and hold an offer for a qualifying study.
Overview of the University of Westminster Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarship
The University of Westminster established its sanctuary scholarship programme to support individuals affected by displacement and by impediments to entering university study and higher education.
Applicants seeking asylum may be under great financial pressure, as their immigration status may limit their access to normal student funding. The Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarship aims to assist eligible individuals in overcoming some of these impediments to achieving postgraduate qualifications.
The scholarship will comprise a full tuition fee waiver and a maintenance payment of £1,000 per month for a maximum of 12 months. For the January 2027 intake, the university has two awards listed. There is a limited number of scholarships available; therefore, applicants should prepare a strong application and submit all relevant documents before the closing date.
