ROLE: Senior Partnerships Manager – Development Grants

Role Overview

The job of Senior Partnerships Manager – Development Grants is to help Farmerline build partnerships with development partners like the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Union, and international contractors and implementers like contracting organizations and international NGOs.

Farmerline has had a lot of success in this area with little money, and we want to do even better so we can make a bigger difference. You will be judged on how well you started and handled partnerships. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and works well in a team. They also have good written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and they know a lot about the industry and have a lot of contacts in it.

Responsibilities & KPIs

  • Research and Prospecting: Do research to find the best implementing partners and consortia teams in the Agriculture and Rural Development fields.
  • Reach out to business players and get in touch with them. Build and keep strong relationships with the first 40 companies in your portfolio. This could mean taking part in or planning events.
  • Work with partners to make mobile engagement projects that are scalable, sustainable, and successful. This includes building partnerships, co-designing projects, making budgets, and writing concept notes.
  • Manage: Work with Unit Directors and Managers to lead the process of developing and submitting proposals for Farmerline.
  • Thought leadership: Become a leader in the company and in the outside world when it comes to mobile engagement. Serve as a key leader on the Company’s business development team in planning and prioritizing funding efforts to help the company grow.

  • Increase the number of proposals submitted each year;
  • Increase the number of wins for Farmerline in the Agriculture and Rural Development areas;
  • Through thought leadership efforts, you can build new partnerships and strengthen the ones you already have.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience building partnerships, managing relationships, and growing business, with tasks that have grown over time.
  • Experience pitching complex ideas and leading conversations about partnerships with a top leadership or executive team.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and experience working with people from different departments to reach the same goals.
  • They are good at fixing problems and have worked with budgets before.
  • Support for projects that help people around the world.
  • Ability and flexibility to work outside of sector-specific needs, such as communicating value propositions for mobile involvement in areas like rural development, health, the environment, and energy.
  • Technology’s role in agriculture and growth is a subject that really interests me.
  • Comfortable working with teams that are far away, new businesses, or social companies.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working on grants and contracts for the EU, the FCDO, and USAID, or working with the procurement processes of other funding agencies.
  • Many years were spent living and working in another country.
  • Background or experience working on democracy and/or education projects in the past.
