About University of the Fraser Valley Scholarships

UFV is a designated learning institution by the Government of Canada (DLI number O19395299642), which means that it has been granted permission to host students from other countries.

Concerning the University of the Fraser Valley

The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is a public institution that is fully accredited and enrolls roughly 15,000 students annually. It is situated in the picturesque Fraser Valley, which is located just east of Vancouver in the province of British Columbia, Canada. The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) includes campuses and locations in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, and Hope, and it is also expanding its presence in Chandigarh, India.

The University of Florida is large enough to provide a wide range of options while at the same time maintaining a small class size that enables students to get to know their teachers and learn in a hands-on setting. Fraser Valley University (UFV) is located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. With a plethora of academic alternatives, employment possibilities, and extracurricular activities, UFV is an excellent place to study.

Both on- and off-campus employment

You can spend your semester working on campus with our Work-Study Program. You can arrange your job hours to avoid conflicting with your classes and obtain work experience.

Applying for an off-campus work permit is another option available to you after six months of enrollment.

Practical training

Through our Co-operative Education Program, you can gain real-world work experience while earning money. You can switch between full-time study terms and paid job terms in your field of study with co-ops. You will be employed by Canadian businesses, institutions, and governmental bodies.

Residing in Abbotsford

Abbotsford is located near the US border in Washington State, approximately one hour’s drive from Vancouver, Canada. After Toronto and Vancouver, it is the third-most culturally diverse region in Canada. There is a hospital, recreation center, library, and cultural center in Abbotsford.

Activities

Every UFV student receives a U-pass, which allows them to use local transportation indefinitely. Additionally, it grants you free access to all local municipalities’ recreation and fitness centers, including ice rinks and swimming pools in Abbotsford.

University of the Fraser Valley Scholarship Requirements

International students’ prerequisites for admission

In order to be eligible for admission as an international student at UFV, you have to fulfill the following requirements:

  • General requirements
  • Requirements for proficiency in English

Recall that UFV programs are highly selective. Even if you fulfill the minimal standards for program entrance, we are unable to guarantee an offer of admission as a result.

General specifications

You need to earn upper secondary credentials that match Grade 12 in Canada. This could consist of:

  • Form Six
  • At least two A-levels and five O-levels
  • Certificate of Education (GCE)

Language proficiency in English

For your program, as an international student, you must be able to speak English at our minimal competency levels. If not, you might be able to enroll in one of our programs to improve your English language skills.

UFV takes three English language competency levels into account:

  • If you have the best level of English proficiency, you can apply to our graduate and undergraduate academic programs.
  • Should you fall short of the requirements for academic graduate or undergraduate study, you can be qualified for our Qualifying Studies program. Following completion and retesting, you can qualify for graduate or undergraduate coursework.
  • You can be qualified for our English Language Studies (ELS) foundational English and academic upgrading program if you don’t meet the requirements for our Qualifying Studies Program. You can be qualified for the Qualifying Studies Program after completing the ELS program.

Program specifications

Every program has unique entrance criteria in addition to general and English language proficiency requirements. To improve your math, physics, or other talents, for instance, you might need to enroll in more classes. Even if you are admitted to the program on a conditional basis, this can still be necessary.

Program requirements for English as a Second Language

Anyone who wishes to improve their English proficiency can enroll in the English as a Second Language program. You must be at least eighteen years old and have completed high school, or Form Five, in order to apply for the English Second Language Program.

Scholarship for those who have achieved international excellence (renewable)

Each participant will receive a total of CAD $20,000 ($5,000 each year for a period of four years).

Those who are able to claim this

If you meet the following criteria, you are qualified to receive this scholarship:

  • You submit an application to attend UFV for your education.
  • You are currently in your graduating year or received your diploma not too long ago.

Cutoff time for applications

This scholarship does not require you to submit an application. Once you submit your application to UFV, your application will be considered immediately if you meet the qualifying requirements.

Scholarship for International Application to Regional Entrance

The amount that is being awarded to each participant is $5,000 Canadian dollars.

Those who are able to claim this

If you meet the following criteria, you are qualified to receive this scholarship:

  • You submit an application to attend UFV for your education.
  • You are currently in your graduating year or received your diploma not too long ago.

Cutoff time for applications

This scholarship does not require you to submit an application. When you submit an application to UFV, whether or not you match the qualifying requirements, you will be considered automatically.

Scholarships for entrance to British Columbia high schools are available internationally.

The amount that is being awarded to each participant is $5,000 Canadian dollars.

Those who are able to claim this

  • If you are a student attending a high school that is located outside of the United States, you are eligible to participate in this program.
  • There is a secondary school in British Columbia.
  • A high school located offshore that has been examined and approved by the government of British Columbia

Cutoff time for applications

This scholarship does not require you to submit an application. Once you submit your application to UFV, your application will be considered immediately if you meet the qualifying requirements.

How To Apply?

1 . Choose your program

Each program is unique. Make sure to review the entrance requirements to determine the prerequisite courses and grades. You may be required by your program to attach extra documents to your application. Allow enough time to collect the necessary paperwork.

To be eligible for admission to UFV, you must fulfill three different sorts of requirements: general, English, and program-specific. Examine all three thoroughly to guarantee prompt entrance.

4 Collect your documents

UFV needs the following documentation from you:

  • Your TOEFL, IELTS, or LPI official English language score

Foreign applicants who have finished their education outside of Canada must either meet our English language proficiency (ELP) standard or have studied in an educational system that is exempt. Visit the ELP website to learn more. Please refer to the instructions below regarding the submission of your high school and post-secondary transcripts if you attended school in an exempt system.

Use code 9736 during the test to have your TOEFL iBT score instantly forwarded to UFV.

If you take the IELTS exam, UFV can check your score online. Just email admissions@ufv.ca with the number on your Test Report Form. You do not need to resend via email if your TRF was already uploaded with your application.
