POSITION: Resource Development /Fund raising Officer

Springforth Community School is a Christian, multicultural educational institution that has been providing outstanding education for over 15 years. Our objective is to provide excellent nursery, primary, and secondary education in a nurturing and exciting atmosphere. We provide the Cambridge and Ghana Education Service curriculum.

Job Description

  • Department: Management.
  • Reports directly to: The Principal and School Director.

 Job Purpose

The purpose of this work is threefold:

Goals for the school include increasing student enrollment, raising funding for scholarships and projects, and improving branding and marketing efforts. Internal and exterior.

The Resource Development/Fundraising Officer is responsible for developing a resource development plan that includes an enrollment improvement strategy, a fundraising strategy, and designing and implementing SFCS’s branding and marketing plan.

This position entails the development and implementation of programs and activities that will, in the short and long term, promote enrollment and raise cash for the school. This role will have a direct impact on customer (prospective and current students/parents) satisfaction by meeting appropriate internal and external customer and sponsor/donor expectations, resulting in positive financial benefits for the school.

KEY TASKS:

General 

  • Create a resource development plan that includes branding, marketing, and fundraising goals, activities, deliverables, and a budget.
  • Lead the resource development plan’s implementation, including the formulation and execution of strategies.
  • Identify and pursue new clients, sponsors, contributors, and fundraising options for the school (individual, corporate, grant, foundations, etc.).
  • Orient and train SFCS staff in fundraising, branding, and marketing strategies.

Resource Development, Marketing, and Fundraising 

  • Proactively hunt for objectives. Parents should create and maintain communication with individuals who will benefit from our services, as well as those who will benefit from SFCS’s services.
  • Develop multi-tier relationships to boost student populations, including sponsor and donor-based
  • Create a referral and lead generation network among existing parents, alumni, and sponsors.
  • Contribute to and implement school brand strategy.
  • Ensure that SFCS’s online presence (website, Whatsapp, and social media platforms) is consistent with its new resource development, branding/marketing, and fundraising strategy.
  • Forecast short and long-term enrollment and business prospects.
  • Monitor marketing program implementation and execution using a hands-on approach.

Customer/Sponsor/Donor Relationship Management 

  • Increase engagement with new and existing parents and donors.
  • Conduct research, develop market analysis, and provide accurate reports.
  • Also, serves as a lead facilitator both internally and externally for projects.
  • Finally, Create and manage client communication tools including company websites, newsletters, and school events.

Key Performance Indicators and Targets 

  • Number of fresh enrollments
  • % retention of already enrolled students
  • Improved reputation. Increased visibility of the school in Ghana and beyond (website and social media)
  • Total number of new scholarship sponsors and donors.
  • Amount of funds raised internally and outside
  • Send email appreciation notes to sponsors/donors after they have fulfilled their pledges.
  • To keep sponsors up to date, create short documentaries featuring scholarship students.
  • Lastly, Other matters concerning her scope of employment.

Required Skill or Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business management. A Master’s degree is preferable.
  • Professional training or certification in marketing, branding, or fundraising.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in branding, marketing, and/or fundraising.
  • Excellent planning and computer skills (Microsoft Suite).
  • Excellent writing, communication, and PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates exceptional public speaking, interpersonal, and professionalism abilities.
  • Requirements: – Strong awareness of Ghana’s business environment – Prior experience working in or fundraising for schools is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE 

  • Understanding of branding, marketing, strategy formulation, and implementation.
  • Ability to plan, analyze facts or information, and make effective business decisions.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, all other workers, and clients.
  • Have excellent persuading and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of fundraising management software is a bonus.
  • Links to international funders and sponsors.
