Parliamentary Service of Ghana Final Recruitment for 2024
Applications are solicited from adequately qualified individuals to fill the following positions in Ghana’s Parliamentary Service.
1. Deputy Director of Culinary Services and Customer Experience
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Deputy Director of Culinary Services and Customer Experience shall assist the clerk of parliament with the following duties:
- Ensure quality and hygiene of meals and beverages for parliamentarians, staff, and guests.
- Ensure food is presented and served in hygienic circumstances that meet food safety and health standards.
- Support the implementation of diverse, nutritious, and cost-effective menus for members and staff, ensuring consistency and quality in food preparation.
- Coordinate catering and hospitality services for official events, receptions, and functions hosted by parliament, ensuring a seamless and professional experience.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and hospitality among unit staff.
Qualifications & Experience
- A good first degree in culinary arts, catering management, or a related subject from a recognized university, with at least 9 years of post-qualification experience in the culinary industry or catering services, and a master’s degree in the relevant subject, with at least 3 years in a position equivalent to assistant director in the public service.
- Age Limit: Except where an applicant has been employed by a public service institution or a state agency, the applicant should not be over 45 years of age on the date of appointment to the position.

2. Deputy Director, Environmental Health
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce technical guidelines for environmental health management and services.
- Provide guidance on environmental health, workplace hygiene, and environmental protection.
- Evaluate sanitation facilities and waste management services to improve and ensure sustainability.
- Initiate and implement social approaches and concepts for solving environmental health challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
- A good first degree in environmental science or relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 9 years post-qualification work experience in environment health and sanitation, and a Master’s degree in environmental science or relevant discipline with at least 3 years in a position analogous to chief environmental health analyst in a public service institution.
- Possess a good first degree and a master’s degree in environmental science or a relevant discipline from a recognized university, with at least 5 years of post-master degree work experience and at least 3 years in a position similar to a chief environmental health analyst in a public service organization.
- Age Limit: An applicant should not be older than 55 years old on the date of appointment to this position. This age limit does not apply to an officer who has served in the public service or state agency before reaching the voluntary retirement age of 45 years.
3. Head of the Parliamentary Training Institute
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure resource mobilization and preparation of the institute’s yearly budgets for inclusion in the annual budget of parliament and the parliamentary service.
- Offer orientation, induction, and ongoing training programs for parliamentarians, service members, and stakeholders to promote democratic governance.
- Conduct research and disseminate information on parliamentary practice and procedures.
- Organize exchange programs and internships with sister parliaments.
- Perform any other functions assigned by the board.
Qualifications & Experience
- A post-graduate qualification in an advanced research degree (MPhil) or its equivalent with specialization in legislative studies, humanities, social sciences, or a relevant discipline from a recognized university, with a minimum of 8 years of post-master of philosophy degree qualification work experience. Alternatively, a Doctor of Philosophy in the relevant academic area is required, along with at least 10 years of post-doctoral experience.
- An applicant must be a member in good standing of a recognized professional organization.
- Age Limit: An applicant should not be older than 55 years old on the date of appointment to this position. This age limit does not apply to an officer who has served in the public service or state agency before reaching the voluntary retirement age of 45 years.
4. Deputy Director of Public Engagement
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate capacity-building workshops and seminars for CSOs, as well as collaborative events between Parliament and CSOs.
- Coordinate and implement open government partnerships and open parliament initiatives.
- Provide technical support to the open government partnership caucus and steering committee.
- Monitor and evaluate implementation.
Qualifications & Experience
- A good first degree in social science, humanities, mass communication, public relations, or other equivalent field from a recognized university with a minimum of 9 years relevant post-qualification work experience in a civil society organization and a master’s degree.
- Possess a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social science, humanities, mass communication, public relations, or a related discipline from a reputable university, together with at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification job experience in a civil society organization.
- Age Limit: Except where an applicant has been employed by a public service institution or a state agency, the applicant should not be over 45 years of age on the date of appointment to the position.
