Position: TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Scope
The Technical Director will primarily serve as the single point of contact between the Technical Office in Ghana and Europe, assisting resident and deputy resident engineers on-site with project designs, contractual issues, and site documentation, and contributing to the Technical Office in Ghana’s development.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Management to achieve the general and technical objectives.
- Direct and manage the work of the technical office.
- Ensure the consistency of the Technical Office’s processes, and establish a Document
- Control Plan and Quality Procedures for the Company.
- Ensure that directions and plans are implemented within the timeframe specified, by managing resources efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure that the Technical Office in Rome receives project tasks, design, and engineering requests on time.
- Supervise the Technical Office’s management while allowing the Technical Office Coordinator and Operations to work independently.
- Supervise accurate communication between the Technical Office in Accra and the Technical Office in Europe.
- Oversee relationships with our clients for the services offered by the company, specifically the design and contractual parts of the projects the company is working on.
- Supervise design management and guarantee that technical progress deadlines are reached.
- Supervise the preparation of technical drawings.
- Propose initiatives to Management aimed at rationalizing technical services, streamlining procedures, and ensuring consistency across the Company’s numerous projects.
- Assist management with periodic reports on the branch’s performance, including necessary analysis.
- Ensure that archives and information backups related to the sector of responsibility are maintained and updated.
Requirements
The ideal applicant would have considerable technical experience in railway engineering at the supervisory level, as well as international work experience, notably in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience working in a similar job within railway or transportation engineering is required.
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or a related discipline. A master’s degree in civil or construction engineering will be advantageous.
- Must be a professional/advanced/proficient user of English.
- Excellent supervision skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyze financial data.
- Proficient in the Microsoft 365 environment, with extensive skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
