POSITION: Deputy Head of Distribution – Partnerships
Job Description
This function is in charge of successfully developing and maturing collaboration capabilities both within and outside the country. The incumbent will spearhead many cross-sector alliances, ventures, and business development initiatives to produce scalable outcomes, improve corporate reputation, and generate business results. The successful candidate must be strategic and have tangible outcomes to present.
Responsibilities
Strategy Implementation
- Investigates and prioritises critical strategic areas. Supports the implementation of corporate strategies.
Partnership Management and Commercialization
- Implement strategic partnerships with important partners across industry verticals such as banking institutions, insurance firms, investment businesses, etc. to promote growth, stimulate innovation, and boost the company’s competitive position.
- Identify and lead the establishment of multi-stakeholder relationships and initiatives to help the country and the Group achieve their goals.
- Lead talks and deliberations on partnership agreements with internal and external parties to achieve mutually beneficial results and create win-win solutions.
- Effective representation at forums and meetings will help to profile collaboration opportunities and expand the strategic relationship pipeline.
- Structure, negotiate, and manage partnership deals/agreements, including resource mobilization, outcome forecasting, change negotiation, results assessment, and reporting oversight.
- Own partnerships with Fintechs and Insurtechs.
- Responsible for product cooperation (product development and monitoring).
- Ensure that the Partnership function contributes to the achievement of established revenue targets.
- Introduce digital propositions to local partners (e.g., Ghana) and manage presentations/pitch sessions and workshops to help them understand and adopt.
- Coordinate necessary sign-offs within the Old Mutual internal structures, ensuring timely sign-offs and adherence to compliance and regulatory standards to accelerate collaboration activities.

- Define a new venture strategy that is linked with the country plan.
- Delivery against performance targets developed and agreed upon with the Head of Distribution.
- Successful blueprint delivery and oversight.
- Key outputs, triumphs, and failures are shared with management
- Ensures budget approval.
- Effective business arguments for successful concepts
