Job Summary
- Oversee all MasterCard programs such as Credit, Debit, Prepaid, and Commercial cards, covering both issuing and acquiring operations, for clients in the Rest of West Africa.
- Increase MasterCard volume and market share among Issuers and Acquirers while creating additional revenue sources through enhanced value-added services.
- Have you ever worked on establishing a long-term relationship with a major client? Are you able to negotiate, implement, and oversee every facet of the customers’ operations? Can you move past tactical interactions and establish yourself as the reliable strategic consultant for this account?
- Are you able to assess a customer’s business via profitability modeling, financial projections, and competitive evaluation?
Responsibilities
- Achieve sales goals for MasterCard offerings and revenue objectives from both new and existing clients in the market.
- Examine the customer’s operations by evaluating profitability models, projecting finances, and conducting competitive assessments. Create targeted strategies that provide tailored solutions for the business, enhancing profit, revenue growth, and value for both MasterCard and the customer, while collaborating closely with MasterCard’s cross-functional teams.
- Work together with the client to create and implement a yearly strategic account plan, establishing regular review meetings (at least quarterly) to set, track, and communicate progress towards shared goals.
- Negotiate, finalize, and oversee the customer agreement process, guaranteeing global connection of resources and sharing of information.
- Create and execute sales strategy frameworks that encompass business growth, promotion, marketing, and product oversight with clients, potential clients, and internal MasterCard associates.
- Engaged in all product development for The Rest of West Africa, encompassing the identification and execution of new features and benefits, collaborating closely with the Africa team and other internal stakeholders in the region.
- Develop an extensive customer marketing pipeline aimed at enhancing portfolio performance (usage and acquisition).
About You
- This role provides the chance to oversee every element of the MasterCard partnership with designated clients.
- The role demands a self-driven, commercially savvy business developer possessing exceptional relationship management and persuasion abilities to collaborate with customers and MasterCard’s cross-functional teams in designing and executing effective payment programs that enhance segment penetration and boost revenues for both MasterCard and banks.
- The perfect candidate will have a strong emphasis on execution, extensive experience in the payments industry, ideally acquired in Business Development/Product management on the Issuer side, and the capability to collaborate across various disciplines and functions. He should also be quite at ease handling technology.
- Strong understanding of retail electronic payments/cards from the issuing/acquiring/network viewpoint is necessary. (Experience in the payments/banking sector is preferred)
- Should be capable of blending expertise from various fields (Sales, Product, Marketing, operations, and risk).
