New Job Requirements at Gold Fields
The Metallurgy Department of Gold Fields is looking to hire an experienced and suitable professional for the role of Section Operator II. The incumbent will be in charge of planning and executing tasks to meet targets by organizing, coordinating, and adhering to specified controls in line with metallurgical standards and procedures, to maintain the Water Treatment Plant functioning at optimum recovery.
About the Role
- Ensure that the clarifiers (CL500 and CL200) and the Water Treatment Plant are free of tripping hazards by cleaning material spillage.
- Assist the maintenance staff in doing maintenance on the clarifiers, monitoring tools, and water treatment plant.
- Liaise with section operators to ensure timely reporting and execution of work.
- Ensure that the area of operation is managed according to operational guidelines.
- Report to the Shift Supervisor any risky situations or risks that are likely to block production for the following shift worker.
- Report to the Shift Supervisor on how to increase safety, efficiency, performance, and production.
- Ensure decent housekeeping.
Key Requirements
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar job
- A minimum of Senior High School Certificate or its equivalent.
- Understanding of laboratory measurement parameters and Mine wastewater discharge protocols.
- Expertise in screen filtration and reverse osmosis (RO) techniques.
- Knowledge in water clarity, byproduct control, and treatment techniques.
- Good comprehension of repair and maintenance of ultrafiltration membranes
- Well-developed oral and written communication abilities, as well as the ability to engage with people from various cultures.
- Must be organized, with the ability to plan and prioritize their workload.
- Anticipates, plans, and responds rapidly and flexibly to changing conditions.
- Be self-reliant, self-driven, and result-oriented.
