Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) is a well-established African-based research center and one of three field research institutes operated by the Ghana Health Service’s Research and Development Division, which is a Ministry of Health agency. The work of KHRC has consequences for health policy and practice in Ghana, Africa, and around the world. KHRC is located in the heart of Ghana and provides national and international research and training services, with a multidisciplinary team.
Job Description
Qualified persons are encouraged to apply for the position of Communications Officer at the Kintampo Health Research Centre in Kintampo North Municipality, Bono-East Region.
- Job Type: Full-Time Appointment.
- Duration: one year (renewable).
Job Purpose
Develop and implement communications for internal and external audiences, including staff, residents, businesses, partners, stakeholders, and the media.
Key Responsibilities
- Create communications content for KHRC.
- Press releases are written to help produce blog material.
- Creating social media posts.
- Maintaining digital media archives.
- Monitor forums and social media sites.
- Provide the media with information on the KHRC and its activities.
- Plan content and produce material for publications such as corporate brochures, annual reports, and newsletters.
- Write internet page content as well as presentation and video scripts.
- Editing and Proofreading
- Ensure consistency in terms of voice, branding, messaging, and frequency of publishing on digital media.
- Handle media inquiries and write effective news releases to achieve positive coverage.
Required Skill or Experience
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a communications function.
- Knowledge of desktop publishing software (such as Photoshop).
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, or Related Fields
- Ability to work in a team setting.
