About You and the Role
The Procurement Analyst for Africa will work with facility heads and the strategic finance team to cut costs and improve Zipline procurement.
Our operations include procurement of supplies and contract negotiations, and the procurement analyst will help manage the procurement processes, ensure timely delivery of supplies, minimize operational costs, and understand CAPEX, OPEX, high-level procurement, strategic planning, and budget management.
Your expertise will enable efficient resource allocation, cost containment, and informed decisions that support our long-term business goals.
What Will You Do?
- Cost Control: You will help to control buy costs by maintaining our aggregated plans for each country and negotiating attractive contracts.
- Collaboration with Facility Leads: You will work closely with facility leads to understand their specific procurement needs and requirements, as well as share any necessary permissions. By creating strong communication lines and coordinating procurement activities with the facilities team, you can guarantee that purchasing decisions are tailored to meet operational needs while minimizing expenses.
- Strategic Finance Team Alignment: Working with the strategic finance team is critical for aligning procurement efforts with overall financial goals and objectives. You will collaborate with the strategic finance team to create cost-control measures, analyze procurement spending data, and estimate future procurement requirements. This collaborative approach will ensure that Zipline’s purchase decisions are consistent with its financial plans.
- Supplier Sourcing and Relationship Management: This function relies heavily on developing and maintaining connections with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of supplies and advantageous conditions. To reduce risks and improve procurement outcomes, you will develop strong supplier partnerships, write contracts, and evaluate supplier performance.
Qualifications Required
- At Least 7 years of experience in procurement or equivalent jobs, ideally in the logistics or technology sectors.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and implement cost-cutting measures.
- Strong data collection, analytics, and reporting skills. The ability to work well with computer systems and procurement software systems.
- Strong awareness of procurement principles, best practices, and effective sourcing methods.
- Experience mentoring and guiding teams.
- Outstanding communication, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while collaborating cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business goals.
