POSITION: Remote Bookkeeper

Position Summary 

We are a UK-based bookkeeping and accounting consulting firm looking for a meticulous and skilled Remote Bookkeeper located in Ghana to assist our expanding clientele. The perfect applicant will possess substantial expertise in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Hubdoc and will oversee daily bookkeeping responsibilities for clients from different industries. This involves guaranteeing precise financial reporting and aiding adherence to requirements under UK accounting standards.

Main Duties

  • Keep precise financial documentation with Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent.
  • Handle invoices, receipts, and payments through Hubdoc.
  • Balance bank statements and oversee accounts payable/receivable.
  • Draft VAT returns for assessment.
  • Create financial statements, comprising profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
  • Convey messages efficiently
  • Carry out additional duties as deemed necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper or accountant.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Hubdoc.
  • Solid grasp of UK accounting regulations and VAT.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Robust written and spoken communication abilities in English
  • Tech-savvy – proficient with accounting and communication software, and capable of swiftly adapting to new technology
  • Capability to function autonomously and adhere to deadlines.
  • Expert and balanced method for email correspondence.
  • Must have access to a functional laptop or desktop, reliable internet connection, and a phone for communication and job responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with clients based in the UK or collaborating with global companies.
  • Experience managing various clients or operating in an outsourced setting.

Additional Information

  • This role is a freelance/self-employed opportunity located in Ghana. No movement is necessary or guaranteed. You will need to report and submit any relevant local taxes on your income that we pay to you in Ghana.
