POSITION: Banking Coverage & Delivery Lead / Ghana

About this job:

As Banking Coverage & Delivery Lead / Ghana, you will be part of a high-performing team tasked with establishing and growing strategic partnerships with financial service providers to advance financial inclusion in Africa. This will be accomplished by defining the JUMO model, ensuring that they understand the value of the relationship, establishing the appropriate product construct, optimizing portfolio growth, achieving revenue targets, and managing risk under the partnership agreement. You will be headquartered in Ghana and report to the Managing Director of Capital Partners.

You will.

  • Develop and maintain good connections with major financial service provider counterparties by clearly communicating what we do and ensuring that they fully grasp JUMO’s goal. This will make it easier for JUMO to deploy mobile financial services products that are consistent with the JUMO goal, local regulatory requirements, and the cooperation agreement.
  • Define and develop products with financial service providers, resulting in a network of financial service providers capable of supporting JUMO’s strategic marketplace ambitions. The bouquet of financial service providers will be determined by product, partner, client risk profile, and financial service provider risk policy.
  • Explain the advantages of a partnership that combines strong banking and financial services understanding with the ability to communicate about portfolio strategy, reporting, compliance, and data analytics.
  • Continuously monitor and review total portfolio performance against agreed-upon KPIs to find opportunities for further optimizing portfolio growth, and consumer utility, and enabling long-term expansion of the digital ecosystem.
  • Identify and distribute real-time, robust, reliable, and insightful business information (which may include regulatory changes, macro trends in banking, and the economy as a whole) with relevant internal teams that can have an impact on overall product and portfolio performance.
  • Drive collaboration and shared consciousness among all internal cross-functional teams to ensure that all legal, regulatory, data, product, marketing, customer insights, finance, and operations requirements are properly examined to meet revenue targets while managing risk.
  • Optimize the alliance via strategic collaboration and identify new, mutually profitable market prospects that align with the JUMO business model.

You’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
  • High-level and sophisticated relationship management experience at the senior and other levels of an organization (internal and external), with at least 8 years of work experience. Banking, corporate finance, financial markets, and financial technology experience are preferred.
  • Track record of high-level discussions with important counterparts to achieve and facilitate a specific strategy.
  • Good understanding and expertise with financial products and performance, such as credit risk, lending dynamics, saving, and some insurance.
  • Understanding and experience conducting business in Africa.
  • Understanding of mobile network operators and how mobile money can help them generate revenue.
  • Understand financial services, mobile money, and mobile financial services.
  • Ability and desire to travel where necessary.

  • Exposure to electronic money and consumer or small business credit.
  • Experience in dealing with regulators.
  • Technical project management experience.
