POSITION: Cross Border Business Development Leader
Job Description
In this capacity, you will have an impact in the following ways.
- Prospects and discovers new chances for corporate growth. Independently creates and implements account plans to build customer connections and meet sales targets within the allocated sales region, market sector, or channel partners.
- Creates new customer relationships and strengthens existing ones to help identify a customer’s needs, company strategy, and purchasing process. Identifies and offers Cummins solutions based on an understanding of customer needs and goals.
- Gains agreement on Cummins Solutions’ distinct advantage by assisting the customer in understanding and evaluating current data and information, as well as the value proposition. Negotiates according to company rules, including payment arrangements.
- Assists with accounts receivable collection as needed. Drives sales, meet sales targets, and ensures client satisfaction.
- Consistently employs the Cummins Sales Process, as well as Cummins tools, processes, and initiatives that promote sales, customer satisfaction, and customer value, such as
- Customer Relationship Management and special projects. Reports on activity using the Customer Relationship Management application as directed by management. Creates sales predictions as directed. Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced account executives.
- Developing an Account Strategy entails influencing the current status of an account in terms of relationship, finances, product competitiveness, barriers, quality, and service, as well as defining a desired future state by balancing customer requirements and business capabilities to define achievable targets that align with the business strategy.
- Sales forecasting entails gathering and analyzing client data from both internal and external sources, comparing it to historical data to generate valuable inputs and estimate future consumption trends.
- Sales Pipeline Management – Prepares proactively for the successful implementation of account/territory-level sales strategies
- Pricing Strategy – Creates pricing by aligning and gaining consensus with key stakeholders across functions to meet corporate objectives. Business insight entails applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to achieve the organization’s objectives. Customer focus is developing strong customer relationships and providing customer-centric solutions.
Responsibilities
To succeed in this role, you will require the following:
- The ideal candidate should be bilingual in French and English and have at least 5 years of experience in field sales and business development for industrial customers in West Africa, focusing on mining and power generation applications.
- Play an active part in managing dealer performance, including contract renewal. Find potential and new dealers in the Cummins Ghana cross-border region. Participate in monthly business and quarterly KPI evaluations with dealers.
- Prospect and identify local business prospects and/or target accounts. Develops, manages, and maintains commercial connections with assigned potential accounts to determine clients’ perceived needs and priorities.
- Helps customers identify the differentiating advantage of Cummins solutions for certain target accounts, as well as develop their business strategy and purchasing process.
- Supports the entire sales strategy through effective communication and coordination throughout the sales organization.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- A college, university, or similar degree in marketing, sales, or a related field, or acceptable sales-related work experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
