POSITION: Public Relations and Marketing Officer
Job Description
Medifem Multi Specialist Hospital and Fertility Centre is in search of an innovative and energetic PR/Marketing Officer to become part of our team. The perfect candidate will be instrumental in enhancing the hospital’s brand, services, and engagement with the community, prioritizing the promotion of our outstanding maternal and fertility care services.
- REPORTS TO: Business Development Manager
- COMPENSATION: As per the authorized compensation framework. Additional information regarding this and the other employment terms will be addressed during the interview.
- PLACE: Accra-Westland, Haasto
ROLE OBJECTIVE:
To create and execute strategic public relations and marketing efforts that improve the visibility, reputation, and outreach of Medifem Multi Specialist Hospital and Fertility Centre. The position entails overseeing both internal and external communications, developing engaging content, organizing events and campaigns, and enhancing connections with the media, partners, and the community to advance the hospital’s mission and expansion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Advertising & Publicity
- Create and implement cohesive marketing strategies to enhance the hospital’s primary services, focusing particularly on specialized care.
- Identify and define target markets; create outreach initiatives to engage both local and global clients.
- Design, organize, and implement promotional efforts such as health fairs, open houses, online advertising, and community health education programs.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document the effectiveness and ROI of every marketing initiative.
Media Relations
- Serve as the hospital’s representative and media contact; handle media inquiries and oversee public announcements.
- Build solid connections with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and media organizations, particularly in the health and wellness sector.
- Create and distribute press releases, articles, newsletters, and media kits to share hospital news and highlight success stories.
- Plan and oversee press conferences, media interviews, and unique hospital events.
Digital and Social Media Administration
- Oversee the hospital’s social media channels and website, making sure that content is current, correct, and consistent with brand messaging.
- Develop and manage engaging content, such as posts, videos, patient reviews, infographics, and health advice.
- Track digital engagement statistics and address online inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally.
Branding and Communication
- Maintain uniformity of the brand throughout all hospital communications, campaigns, and marketing materials.
- Work together with internal groups and creative suppliers to create marketing materials (brochures, flyers, banners, digital displays, etc.).
- Aid in creating educational materials for patients for use in both digital and print formats.
Involvement of Stakeholders and the Community
- Organize and manage outreach efforts aimed at schools, churches, businesses, non-profits, and local organizations.
- Present the hospital at outside exhibitions, trade fairs, medical conventions, and stakeholder meetings.
Internal Messaging
- Create internal communication projects that promote team cohesion, organizational culture, and awareness of hospital operations.
- Promote CSR initiatives and employee engagement programs in partnership with the HR and Admin teams.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, or a similar area.
- At least 3–5 years of applicable experience in a comparable position, ideally in the healthcare, wellness, or hospitality industries.
- Proven proficiency with digital marketing platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, SEO/SEM tools).
Skills & Attributes
- Outstanding written, spoken, and social communication abilities.
- Innovative and forward-thinking individual with a sharp focus on details.
- Robust planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Expertise in content creation and design software like Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or InDesign is beneficial.
- Strong discretion, empathy, and professionalism, especially in delicate fields such as fertility treatment and women’s health.
Preferred
- Familiarity with the Ghanaian healthcare system and its regulatory framework.
- Knowledge of hospital or clinical operations and principles of patient-centered care.
- Having multilingual skills, including local Ghanaian languages, is an advantage.
