Job Summary 

  • Oversee all MasterCard initiatives, including Credit, Debit, Prepaid, and Commercial cards, covering both issuing and acquiring sectors for clients in Ghana and across Africa.
  • Increase MasterCard volume and market share among Issuers and Acquirers while creating additional revenue sources through value-added services.
  • Have you previously worked on developing a lasting relationship with a major client? Are you capable of negotiating, implementing, and overseeing every facet of the clients’ operations? Can you move past tactical interactions and become the reliable strategic advisor for this account?

Are you able to evaluate a customer’s business by means of profitability modeling, financial forecasting, and competitive analysis?

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales objectives for MasterCard offerings and net revenue goals from both new and existing business in the market.
  • Examine the client’s enterprise by utilizing profitability modeling, financial predictions, and competition analysis. Develop targeted strategies that provide tailored solutions for the business that enhance profit, boost revenue growth, and create value for both MasterCard and the customer, all while collaborating closely with MasterCard’s cross-functional teams.
  • Work together with the client to create and implement a yearly strategic account plan, establishing routine (at least quarterly) review meetings to set, track, and communicate progress toward shared goals.
  • Negotiate, implement, and oversee the customer agreement procedure, guaranteeing global connectivity of resources and sharing of information.
  • Create and execute sales strategy frameworks to encompass business growth, advertising, marketing, and product management tasks with clients, potential clients, and internal MasterCard representatives.
  • Engaged in all product development for Ghana, encompassing the identification and execution of new features and advantages, collaborating closely with the Ghana team and other regional internal stakeholders.
  • Develop an extensive customer marketing pipeline aimed at enhancing portfolio performance (usage and acquisition).

All About You

  • This role provides the chance to oversee all facets of the MasterCard partnership with designated clients.
  • The role demands a self-driven, commercially savvy business developer with excellent relationship management and influencing abilities to collaborate with customers and MasterCard’s cross-functional teams to design and execute effective payment programs that enhance segment penetration and boost revenues for both MasterCard and banks.
  • The perfect candidate will be someone with a strong focus on execution, having substantial experience in the payments industry, ideally acquired in Business Development/Product management on the Issuer side, and capable of collaborating across various disciplines and functions. He must also be quite at ease with handling technology.
  • A thorough understanding of retail electronic Payments/Cards from the perspectives of Issuing/Acquiring/Network is needed. (Experience in the payments/banking sector is preferred)
  • Should possess the ability to combine knowledge from various fields (Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Risk).
