Position Overview

MSI RCL Ghana is seeking passionate, organized, client-focused, and energetic candidates with the relevant qualifications and experience listed below. The aim of MSI RCL Ghana is to cater to the needs of those underserved and enhance access to Family Planning (FP) and additional Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services. The Health Promotion Officer (HPO) will carry out field activities within the PSS framework, making sure that project visibility and outputs are in accordance with the work plan. They will work together with GHS and important stakeholders in the district and local communities.

Primary Duties

Collaboration and network development

  • Collaborate with GHS DHMT to ensure that FP is prioritized in district planning
  • Participating in quarterly GHS review meetings and tracking action plans
  • Coordinate with the Capacity Building team and GHS to enhance the execution of the work schedule for the project duration.
  • Aid in promoting community engagement strategies across all neighborhoods by forming creative collaborations.
  • Offers supervision and oversight to all project locations.
  • Regularly strive to guarantee sufficient community participation in the project.

Project oversight, Demand Creation, and fiscal duties

  • Guide the modification of demand generation strategies for family planning at each PSS location with the assistance of the GHS Health Promotion Officer by ensuring comprehensive PSS site orientation, executing community entry, conducting community needs assessment & consultation, and establishing community health management committees.
  • Guarantee additional training for GHS Community Health Nurses in SBCC and IPC.
  • Collaborate with CHNs to create and finalize a quarterly demand generation plan for the PSS facility, based on opportunities spotted in their communities.
  • Oversee collaborative Demand Generation effect tracking with GHS, RME, and Marketing.
  • Oversee facility performance regarding FP and record/report obstacles to the district and MSI regional.
  • Collaborate with GHS-DHD and RM to address all daily or routine issues related to logistics, inventory, and equipment management.
  • Support Teams to log service data into Orion and send it to M&E by the 2nd working day of the following month.
  • Oversee and assist in the transition of teams following the project model.
  • Accountable for organizing all capacity development activities.
  • Promote clinical governance at both the team and organizational level.
  • Collaborate with DPHN and RPHN to optimize the supply chain procedure for FP commodities at every facility.
  • Oversee the budget and other resources allocated to GHS to guarantee effective and efficient use of financial assets and report as required.

Communication and management

  • Maintains and oversees documentation of project tasks.
  • Document all insights gained from the model and distribute to stakeholders.
  • Consistently update key stakeholders on project progress and swiftly communicate any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and present precise and prompt activity reports.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences/Development studies or a related discipline
  • A Master’s degree and pertinent professional qualifications are preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience after graduation.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a comparable position.
  • Outstanding coordination abilities
  • Proficiency in computer applications (office suite and internet search tools)
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal communication.
  • Expressive and critical with focus on specifics
  • Empathetic towards individuals looking for Family Planning and Reproductive Health services
  • Capable of working independently and inspiring others to attain outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to interact with individuals at every level – government, donors, and community.
  • Enthusiastic about practical experience
  • Inspires team members to provide excellent service and outcomes.
