POSITION: Automobile Workshop Manager

Role Description
The position of Automobile Workshop Manager is full-time and on-site. The Workshop Manager is in charge of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the automobile workshop, ensuring that services are delivered on time, adhering to safety protocols and standards, maintaining adequate stock levels of necessary tools and equipment, and implementing proper maintenance procedures for these assets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage jobs effectively by coordinating resources (both operational and human), schedules, and activities.
- Ensure that resources for each work are ordered quickly.
- Assist with quote generation, project management, supply procurement, and quality inspections.
- Ensure the proper use of work numbers and time records.
- Provide oversight and thoroughly examine job estimates.
- Handle incoming inventory by verifying quantities, distributing commodities, and processing bills.
- Provide regular updates on job progress and promptly notify the Head of Operations of any delays or concerns.
- Work with the Head of Operations to respond quickly to customer requests for job status updates and maintain open lines of communication to ensure accuracy.
- Receive and review client feedback, then follow up diligently to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Create and implement procedures for documenting, filing, and keeping information on client inquiries, job orders, and successfully completed jobs.
- Identify employees who need ongoing training and begin the training process in partnership with HR.
- Develop a solid health and safety culture in the workshop.
Qualifications
- Technical understanding of vehicle and/or heavy equipment repair.
- Previous experience as a manager or supervisor.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to operate in a fast-paced workplace and meet different demands.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent time management and organizing abilities.
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant discipline.
