POSITION: Executive Director, Business Development
Job Summary:
The Executive Director of Business Development is a critical leadership position that oversees and drives the Bank’s Business Development strategy. The chosen candidate will be in charge of managing and expanding the bank’s corporate client portfolio, assuring the supply of high-quality financial products and services, and building strong relationships with corporate clients. This position requires a strategic thinker with a successful track record in corporate banking, strong leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of the Ghanaian financial sector.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic leadership:
- Develop and implement an overarching corporate banking strategy that aligns with the bank’s objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the corporate banking team.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain solid connections with corporate clients by knowing their financial needs and offering specialized solutions.
- Serve as the principal point of contact for significant corporate clients, guaranteeing their satisfaction and retention.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue business development possibilities for expanding the bank’s corporate banking portfolio.
- Lead activities to gain new corporate clients and increase market share.
Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company regulations in all corporate banking operations.
- Implement excellent risk management measures to protect the bank’s interests.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a successful corporate banking team.
- Create a collaborative and inventive team environment that promotes professional development.
Financial Performance:
- Monitor and evaluate the financial performance of the corporate banking portfolio.
- Implement techniques to maximize revenue generation while successfully managing costs.
Market Intelligence:
- Stay current on industry trends, market circumstances, and competitor actions.
- Use market intelligence to find opportunities and minimize risks.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a closely related profession. An MBA or comparable postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in corporate banking, with a clear development of responsibility.
- Proven track record of effectively managing corporate banking portfolios and driving business growth.
- Strong understanding of Ghana’s financial market and regulatory environment.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to think strategically and make wise business decisions.
