Job Title: Field Service Engineer, Ghana
This job is a technical and administrative representative for the company, as well as a resident engineer. The person in this position handles customer service assignments, such as preventive maintenance and inspection service work, call-out services, and commissioning activities for the Gas Turbines product line and packages. Under general direction and instructions, solves and comes up with ways to solve customer problems and needs on their own.
How you will make an Impact
- Safety, health, and the environment: Understands and fits in with the safety policies and procedures of both Siemens and the customer. Make sure that the system for work permits is followed. Ensure safe site and practices. Take part by going to meetings about general safety and toolbox safety. Make safety suggestions.
- Quality: Make sure to meet or exceed customer expectations. Make sure that all maintenance is done according to company policy, the manufacturer’s recommendations, and good maintenance practices.
- Analyzing: Must have a basic understanding of maintenance methods and experience with the products and different pieces of equipment that go with the primary package.
- Reporting: Give accurate feedback and communicate in a format that has already been planned. Keep a record of everything that has happened with each piece of equipment and keep that record up to date.
- Problems: When looking at problems, you will use good judgment. Take care of problems quickly and for a small fee with little or no supervision. Learn all of the steps and options for finding information and technical advice sources.
- Scheduling: Make short- to medium-term plans for the people and things that are needed for routine maintenance and starting up the plant.
- Timing: A good plan for getting operations to release equipment for maintenance at the right time. Will be asked to help in a technical way with the operations and maintenance crew in any area if there aren’t enough people to do the job.
Main responsibilities:
- Monitor maintenance services or installation support to make sure they are done according to company policy, and manufacturers’ recommendations, and in a safe way.
- Make sure major interventions are planned, done on time, and within commercial orders.
What You Bring
- Will have worked on well-known gas turbine product lines or have worked as a gas turbine controls/mechanical engineer for a long time.
- Will have a technical degree, like one in engineering, preferably in both electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Will have between 5 and 10 years of experience in a similar field. Higher levels of experience and skills may make up for less education, and vice versa.
- It is very important to have experience working both onshore and offshore.
- A strong background in rotating equipment will be a plus.
- It will be helpful if you know how gas turbine engines work, how packages work, and how to run them.
- Will have a full offshore medical and survival certificate and keep it up to date so it can be used in all areas of assignment.
