POSITION: Heavy Equipment Operator Trainer
Purpose of Position (How does this position contribute to the organization?)
- The role’s primary responsibility is to coordinate and lead comprehensive training programs directly connected to heavy equipment and machines.
- The primary goal of the function is to provide both new and experienced heavy equipment operators with the skills and knowledge required to operate the machinery safely and efficiently.
Key Results Areas:
Training Delivery.
- Provide instruction for new and experienced heavy equipment operators on safe operating methods, equipment handling skills, and maintenance procedures.
Curriculum Development
- Create training materials, manuals, and visual aids.
- Develop tailored training programs depending on equipment types and industry requirements.
- Update training information with current industry standards and best practices.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Evaluate trainees’ performance during practical exercises.
- Conduct written and practical assessments to assess competency.
- Offer constructive criticism to improve operators’ abilities.
Equipment Maintenance
- Train trainees on routine maintenance activities for heavy machinery, including preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Capability requirement
- At least 5 years of experience as a heavy earth moving equipment operator in a mine.
- Proven expertise in training operators on machines such as trucks, dozers, and excavators.
- Relevant certifications as an equipment operator trainer.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong instructional abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to adapt training methods to different learning styles.
- Ability to demonstrate.
Location: Accra.
