POSITION: Electrical & Electronics Technician
REQUIREMENTS
- QUALIFICATION: HND/Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- EXPERIENCE: Maximum of 5 years in a comparable role or position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Equipment Maintenance and Repair
- Identify, resolve, and fix electrical and electronic problems in equipment like extrusion machines, winding machines, and cable assembly tools.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance and repair work to reduce downtime, adhering to plant procedures.
- Replace or repair elements like circuit boards, switches, wiring, fuses, and other electrical components.
- Detection of electrical issues in production machinery/equipment utilizing a multimeter and additional tools.
- Conduct checks on AVR, capacitor banks, and various low voltage switchgear.
Setup and Evaluation of Electrical Systems
- Set up, adjust, and evaluate control systems, sensors, and other electronic components to guarantee correct functionality and quality criteria.
- Install electrical panels, power distribution units, and automation systems according to design specifications.
- Perform voltage tests, insulation assessments, and continuity checks to confirm the quality of cables and components.
Quality Assurance and Safety Adherence
- Verify that all electrical systems and components comply with safety regulations and standards to avoid accidents and failures.
- Conduct quality assessments on electrical systems, verifying adherence to plant and industry regulations.
- Record inspection outcomes, maintenance logs, and repair tasks to maintain an accurate maintenance history.
Assistance for Streamlining Processes and Automation
- Help engineers in applying process enhancements and automation strategies for improved efficiency.
- Supervise automated systems and manage processes, modifying electrical and electronic parts as required.
- Assist in programming and resolving issues with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) or other automated machinery used in cable manufacturing.
Stock Control and Record Keeping
- Keep a stock of replacement parts and electrical materials needed for the upkeep and repair of equipment.
- Record all tasks undertaken, encompassing diagnostics, repairs, replacements, and calibrations for monitoring and quality control.
- Give feedback on acquiring components and enhancements to improve equipment dependability and factory efficiency.
Security:
- To guarantee continuous detection of SUSA, near misses, etc.
- To comply with Nexans Safety Golden Rules, follow the procedure for emergency readiness and response for fire, First Aid, and oil spills.
- To comply with safety standards while working with flammable substances like solvents, thinners, sawdust, etc.
Surroundings & 5S:
- To maintain 5S in the work area and follow environmental protocols when dealing with solvents, thinners, sawdust, etc.
