POSITION: Transit Mixer Driver
Purpose
Transporting concrete from the batching plant to the client’s location to maintain production efficiency and minimize downtime.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and drive the transit mixer.
- Adhere to guidelines; find and examine location and road maps, and understand the path to Dawa, Tema, and Accra.
- Perform evaluations of equipment before and after trips, maintaining records.
- Confirm clients’ locations, the amount of concrete, and deliver according to instructions.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and oiling mixer components and understanding the essential tools for efficient tasks.
- Accountable for fundamental mixer upkeep and sustaining the appearance of the truck and related equipment.
- Always adhere to all safety work practices, policies, and procedures.
- Finish and confirm the accuracy of all associated documents (invoices, waybills).
- Enhance job expertise through involvement in both internal and external training sessions.
- Record and track work/rest durations and kilometers driven while keeping fuel/toll receipts.
- Tasked with shattering any concrete that forms in the drum.
- Adhere to truck driving laws and regulations (dimensions, weight, designated routes, parking, and rest times) along with company policies and protocols.
- Manual addition of products (admixture) to the mix as directed by the quality officer.
Qualifications/Experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Demonstrated experience as a transit mixer operator.
- Focus on specifics and knowledge of industrial machinery.
- Outstanding physical fitness and coordination
- Capacity to work beyond regular hours if necessary
- The capacity to drive for extended periods and travel frequently
- Flexibility and insight to manage unforeseen circumstances (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
