You will head the West Africa Site and Service Sales Team, which is part of the EMEA Region’s organization. By joining FLS, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage a skilled, successful, and resilient multicultural team that will drive sales and business growth.
Role Purpose
As Head of Site & Service Sales, you will be responsible for leading, directing, and controlling the West Africa Cluster’s sales and business development efforts, which will have a substantial impact on group performance. You will oversee this business function to ensure that it meets its short and long-term safety, financial, and operational goals, as outlined in the overarching EMEA sales and service plan.
Your Duties
- Responsible for contributing to the assigned area’s long-term business strategy, as well as giving clear and strong leadership on future strategic direction.
- Establishes the overall vision and strategy, as well as the business plan and budget for the allocated region of responsibility, under the EMEA Sales strategy.
- Sets sales targets and oversees performance within the area of responsibility.
- Be responsible for sales, contribution margins, and business development in your area of responsibility.
- Leads, guides, and develops a sales team to ensure objectives are met.
- Serves as the general representative for the area of duty to external parties.
- Encourages a culture of personal and team safety, including those who may be impacted by the company’s operating activities.
In addition to the foregoing, you will be responsible for developing a plan and being personally accountable for delivering results, typically inside the Sales Cluster. The strategic importance of roles at this level will extend beyond their commercial or functional sector, with repercussions for the entire region. Role holders will own and establish long-term relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, as well as lead discussions critical to achieving the Region Sales and Service goal.
Champions of change at the organizational and functional levels, job holders will push innovation and address difficult business issues that affect many business areas. Roles at this level will have a wide range of professional expertise gathered on a global scale, and they may be recognized as leading experts in their field.
What do you bring?
- An appropriate bachelor’s or engineering degree level qualification.
- A postgraduate business qualification is strongly recommended.
- At least 10 years of mining experience, with 5 years in a leadership role.
- At least 5 years of expertise in business development, with a track record of successful business growth.
- Excellent financial and business knowledge.
- An existing robust network of important stakeholders in the mineral processing industry.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to coach and develop team members and future leaders.
- Capability to establish a coherent and engaged sales team dedicated to achieving customer needs.
