POSITION: Supply Chain Officer
Role Purpose
The Supply Chain Officer’s primary responsibility is to collaborate closely with the Supply Manager to provide best-in-class supply chain and logistics assistance for Bunge’s sustained growth in West Africa. The job oversees general operations at third-party partner facilities while also ensuring proper documentation and reporting of all supply chain activities.
General Duties:
- Conducted crop surveys in Benin, identifying regions with high Shea tree density; evaluated, monitored, and collected Shea price data.
- Coordinating with third-party logistics providers and shipping lines to ensure that shipments and containers arrive on schedule to fulfill daily operational requirements.
- Supervise all client shipments, whether local or export, via tankers, ISO tanks, flexitanks, or bulk shipments, ensuring that they fulfill needed requirements and are properly documented.
- Supervises seal management, administration, and process compliance under audit standards.
- Supervising surveys and surveyors; leading stock count, tank measuring activities, and Shea butter and Shea nut operations under Bunge’s approved standards.
- Manage inventory levels through regular audits and monthly stock levels at a third-party facility, as well as proper stock monitoring.
- Regularly monitoring MOSH/MOAH levels within the third-party plant and reporting accordingly.
- Manages operations to guarantee compliance with agreed-upon quality and safety standards, as well as the implementation of control systems and processes.
- Leads team to ensure that all logistical operations-related administrative activities are accomplished within agreed-upon schedules and with accuracy.
- The vetting, sharing, and approval of shipping documentation.
Educational Qualification:
- A bachelor’s degree in logistics and supply chain management, or professional certification.
Previous Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics operations and supply chain management.
- Experience in commodity trading and warehousing
- Experience with shipping and export processes.
Technical Skills:
- Affinity for reporting and Excel (MS Office in general).
- Experience in manufacturing or trade (e.g., Sheanut, Cashew, Cocoa).
Personality:
- Demonstrates leadership in challenging situations while also acting as a true team player.
- Is proactive and forceful, recognizes and initiates possibilities for change.
- Excels at interacting with colleagues, suppliers, and partners alike.
- Is versatile and flexible, and understands its way around in various situations and duties.
