Project-based graduate research scholarships

Applications are invited from students to apply for the 2022 La Trobe University Project-Based Scholarships. Interested New Zealand, and Australia students, as well as international students, are entreated to apply.

Background of Scholarships

La Trobe University offers a range of doctoral scholarships available for specific research projects as part of their mid-year scholarship round.

La Trobe University Project-Based Scholarships Benefits

  • Successful applicants will receive a scholarship that can help with fee relief, living costs, and more.
  • Also, a stipend value $32,500 per annum (full-time).

Projects are available in the following departments at La Trobe University:

  • Firstly, Business School
  • Secondly, Rural Health School
  • Also, the School of Agriculture, Biomedicine, and Environment
  • Another is the School of Cancer Medicine (Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute)
  • In addition to the above, the School of Computing, Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences
  • Besides the schools above, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • School of Psychology and Public Health

How To Apply For La Trobe University Project-Based Scholarships

  • If you want to apply for a graduate research scholarship to undertake one of these projects, please make sure to:

    • To begin with, review details on how to apply for PhD candidature
    • Secondly, select a project from the available projects listed below
    • Afterward, check the project requirements for eligibility and any additional special conditions
    • Then, contact the nominated contact person for your preferred project via email to express your interest and obtain their in-principle agreement for you to apply to
    • Furthermore, complete your application for admission into La Trobe’s PhD program
    • Additionally, complete a Research Statement Form for your nominated project (only one project can be nominated) and attach this to your application
    • However, a research proposal is not required unless specifically requested as a special condition

For Domestic applicants,

Interested applicants should submit their application to the La Trobe Graduate Research School, admissions.grs@latrobe.edu.au

For International applicants,

Applicants should submit their applications via the International Online Application System

  • After that, complete the Research Statement Form.  An application cannot be accepted without the completed form and without an in-principle agreement for you to apply from the nominated contact of the research project.

The closing date of the applications is 31 July 2022.
