The Judicial Service of Ghana is seeking applications from eligible Magistrates and Lawyers for the position of Circuit Court Judge.

Responsibilities

The circuit court is an appeals court, thus judges must know the appeals process in their jurisdiction and America. A judge must grasp the various appeals procedures because there are several ways to appeal a court ruling. The judge must also know the law in their court’s jurisdiction. They construct an associate judge team to handle the workload, give appeals opinions, confer with other judges throughout trials, and issue a verdict on any case.

American courts can be difficult. The courts in a country with over 300 million people and a vast range of geography are divided into local jurisdictions by necessity.  Many of America’s largest cases are decided here, and as you’ve seen, these judges are crucial to case outcomes nationwide. After learning what a circuit court judge is and does, people can learn about the appeals process and how it may affect them.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Applicants must be Ghanaians enrolled on the Roll of Lawyers in Ghana.
  • They must have at least 5 years of experience at the Bar.
  • They must be of high moral character and integrity.
  • They must be computer-literate and capable of using Word Processing Software, such as Microsoft Word.
  • Qualified candidates may be required to take a written examination, an ICT proficiency test, and an interview.

Location: Accra.
