The Ghana Judicial Service seeks applications from suitable candidates for the following vacant positions.
- Court interpreters.
- Cashiers.
- Court recorders
- Bailiffs
- Docket clerks
- Process clerks
Academic Qualifications and Requirements:
1. COURT INTERPRETORS
Successful candidates will need to Carry out the following duties:
- Translate judicial proceedings from local or foreign languages into English, and vice versa.
- Any other tasks that may be allocated from time to time.
Qualifications And Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized accredited institution; and academic training in the spoken language(s) will be advantageous.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Applications and understanding of internet usage.
- High degree of integrity.
- Proficient in oral and written communication in English.
- Effective oral communication in any of the following languages/dialects:
2. CASHIERS
Successful candidates will have to complete the following duties:
- Create assessments and process files in court.
- Issue receipts for money paid to the court or bank.
- Make entries in the cash books.
- Prepare bank reconciliation statements.
- Compile revenue and deposit returns.
- Any other obligations that may be allocated.
Academic qualifications and requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting from a recognized approved institution.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications and internet use.
- Ability to create bank reconciliation statements.
- The ability to write books of account.
- Knowledge of public sector financing.
- High degree of integrity.
3. COURT RECORDS
Successful candidates will have to complete the following duties:
- Record, type, or immediately transcribe court proceedings.
- Type court orders, letters of administration, and judgments.
- Paste court orders, rulings, and judgments into their various books.
- Type Cause List.
- Any other obligations that may be assigned from time to time.
Academic qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Secretaryship and Management Studies from a recognized university.
- Typing speed of 50 wpm.
- Effective communication and writing skills in English.
- Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the internet.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- High degree of integrity.
4. BAILIFFS
Successful candidates will have to complete the following duties:
- As an Assistant Deputy Sheriff, you will execute court orders.
- Serve court documents.
- Add entries to the Bailiff Process Book.
- Maintain records of service, non-service, and execution.
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Academic qualifications and requirements:
- A minimum of five (5) credit passes in the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), although Not a First Degree or above.
- Understanding of execution processes
- Ability to read and comprehend court orders.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity.
5. DOCKET CLERKS
Successful candidates will be needed to perform the following duties:
- Organize dockets for simple retrieval.
- Add processes to dockets.
- Keep a record of docket movement.
- Place orders, judgments, and copies of certificates in Order Books.
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Academic qualifications and requirements:
- At least a University Diploma or Higher National Diploma from a recognized approved institution.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- High standard of integrity
6. PROCESS CLERKS
Successful candidates will have to complete the following duties:
- Register court processes in the proper books, and/or electronically upload all processes to the c-Justice platform (e-dockets).
- High degree of integrity.
- Any additional duties that may be allocated from time to time.
Academic qualifications and requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized accredited institution.
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Communication skills.
- High standard of integrity
