POSITION: Cleaner
Job Description.
As a Cleaner, your major task will be to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of our restaurant. You’ll play an important part in upholding our high sanitary standards, ensuring the safety and comfort of both our clients and employees. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will greatly benefit the efficient operation of our institution. Working as part of our team, you’ll work with other employees to maintain a good and welcoming environment for all who visit. With your devotion and hard work, you’ll help us create a pleasant environment in which everyone can enjoy their meal.
Cleaning Duties
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
- Clean and sanitize surfaces, countertops, and tables.
- Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Emptying garbage cans and disposing of rubbish appropriately
- Clean restrooms and replace supplies as needed.
Other Duties
- Always comply with health and safety legislation and requirements.
- Keep track of cleaning materials and tell management when they need to be refilled.
- Report any maintenance or cleanliness issues to the proper personnel.
- Follow the correct procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with other staff members to maintain smooth operations and a pleasant working environment.
- Maintain company regulations and procedures, including the dress code and code of behavior.
- Assist with additional duties assigned by management.
Required Skill or Experience
- A minimum of SSCE certificate or equivalent
- Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning positions is preferred, particularly in a restaurant or food service setting.
- Understanding of cleaning methods, sanitary standards, and safety precautions.
- Able to work independently with little supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and good task prioritization.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Physical stamina is the ability to perform jobs that demand prolonged lifting, bending, and standing.
- Ability to work in the early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
