POSITION: Director of Communication
Job Summary
They will be in charge of the Council’s commercial activities at the corporate level, reporting to the Director-General.
Duties
- Report to the Director-General and Council on the CSIR’s commercialization functions.
- Manage CD implementation operations.
- Supervise Marketing Officers and Public Relations Officers.
- Guide pricing and costing policies, advertising, promotion, and market research.
- Train Marketing Officers.
- Conduct market research and build corporate image.
Qualifications & Experience
The applicant should have the following qualifications and characteristics:
- MBA/MSc or comparable Master’s Degree in Marketing
- 10+ years of post-qualification experience as a Principal Marketing Officer in a Research Institution, University, or analogous institution.
- Principal Marketing Officer with at least 15 years of post-qualification experience in a well-known marketing firm, industry, or public service.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior marketing management position.
- Possession of a relevant professional qualification or membership in a Professional Marketing body.
- Knowledge of relevant sectors and ability to interact with top management in other institutions and agencies.
- Capability to produce and get funds, both internally and internationally.
- Capable of translating policy decisions into concrete programs.
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to encourage and lead personnel.
Age Limit: The candidate should not be older than 55 years.
Tenure: The position is initially for five years and may be renewed once, subject to good performance if the candidate is under the age of sixty at the time the first term expires.
Compensation: The compensation is appealing, with fringe benefits
