POSITION: Process Plant Training Officer

Company Profile

Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited (CNML) is a subsidiary of Shandong Gold Mining Co. Ltd., which is listed on both the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. CNML is developing its core asset in Ghana’s Upper East Region with the strategic aim of creating a world-leading, highly lucrative, and responsible gold mining operation.

Job Description

  • Location: Namdini Mine Site near Bolgatanga.
  • Section: Plant Operations Department: Processing
  • Job reports to the Senior Process Plant Supervisor or his designee.
  • Direct Reports: None

Job Purpose

To work closely with the Plant Supervisors daily to maintain operational efficiency within the Process Plant. The incumbent will be in charge of creating and implementing training and development programs to improve the skills and knowledge of staff at the processing facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create training modules and resources targeted to specific processes.
  • Provide engaging training sessions and workshops.
  • Evaluate employees’ performance and provide feedback.
  • Update training materials to reflect process changes or improvements.
  • Maintain and update employee training records.
  • Perform any other related duties given by the Supervisor based on the needs of the mine operations.

Required Minimum Qualification(s) and Experience

  • Degree/HND in mineral engineering, chemical engineering, metallurgical engineering, or a related subject.
  • Mincom Processing Officer Competency Certificate.
  • Valid driving license.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity in the mining or extraction business.

Knowledge

  • Training system development and implementation.
  • Positive atmosphere for personal and equipment safety, as well as safe work habits.
  • Hazard identification abilities.
  • Ability to complete things based on a priority schedule.
  • Knowledge of gold in circuit survey.
  • The ability to troubleshoot technical difficulties using available instruments and get results within a time range.
  • Knowledge of available technology for calibrating instruments and recording.
  • Knowledge of gold extraction by CIL.
  • Knowledge of mill relining, sampling methods, and preparation procedures.
  • Knowledge of crushing, milling, and classification, as well as production statistics.
  • Knowledge of flotation, UFG, and thickening.
  • Supervisory experience in culturally sensitive settings.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a process trainer or in a similar position.
  • Excellent communication and presenting skills.
  • Capability to undertake individual training needs assessments.
  • Experience with the latest training strategies and technologies.
  • Strong organizational and team management skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, at all organizational levels.
  • Extensive problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to work alone and take initiative.

Production & Safety

  • Ability to foster a good environment conducive to personal and equipment safety, as well as safe working habits.
  • The Flotation & CIL plant can provide operational optimal performance.
  • Ability to guarantee that sampling methodologies and sample preparation procedures are correct and follow standard practices.
  • Provide daily training support for operations.
  • Follow all statutory Company safety rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to the site safety manuals and aid in training personnel on safe chemical handling methods.
